Mark Richt in 2001, Part II?

Back in January 2001, before the Oklahoma vs. Florida State national title game, top Seminoles assistant Mark Richt nabbed the head coaching job at University of Georgia. Leading up to the game, he was actually splitting duties. Richt is a focused guy, for sure, but a decent amount of Seminoles fans will discuss this as the reason they lost, 13-2, giving Bob Stoops and Oklahoma their only title of this decade. Well, history is repeating itself, in a way: Dan Mullen, the offensive coordinator at Florida, just nabbed the Mississippi State job. Again, Mullen? Focused dude, great offensive coordinator, etc, etc. But a top coordinator leaving for a SEC head job before taking on a Stoops-led team? Cue the peanut gallery: "Distraction!"
