The Morning ... According to Us
What was the Image of the Year?

It's December 24, which means in one week, you'll be doing the "Auld Lang Syne" thing and ushering in 2009, secretly hoping the Rose Bowl isn't a horrible game and that the NFL's wild-card weekend leaves you giggling like a schoolgirl. It's a time of year that invites reflection, and we're gonna do that right now. To complement our "Story of the Year" by Chris Jones, we open the morning of Christmas Eve with Images Of The Year. Brief, but necessary, caveat: these aren't the best aesthetic photos of the year; they are meant to capture the big story of, essentially, every month. There are almost certainly great pictures we missed. If you'd like to tell us, feel free. (If ya want to send us any Top 5/Top 10 lists about 2008 we should look into, do that too!) In the meantime, enjoy our efforts at reflection:
