The cast shmoozed while Philly fell into lawlessness.

The investigation surrounding Marvin Harrison's possible role in a shooting that took place in Philadelphia back in May isn't exactly the stuff of Law & Order legend. Not that all cases can make it from a Jerry Orbach wisecrack next to a garroted victim to a Sam Waterston sweeping crescendo in front of an awestruck jury (before we're struck with just a touch of irony) in the space of an hour—but this is ridiculous.

Harrison's case is a farce. And we haven't even added up the commercial breaks.

Let's review the story arc: On May 5th of last year, a shooting takes place near a bar owned by Harrison. From the initial story released that day we learn, "A source said ballistic tests showed that the gun that had fired the shots was a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined that Harrison owned such a gun….Police then went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison to question him about the gun. Harrison admitted owning such a weapon."

So, in May, just after the shooting, police had determined that Harrison's gun was involved in the shooting, that Harrison had denied using the weapon, yet was still under investigation until detectives could determine both who used the weapon, and Harrison's role.

This is where, in the Law & Order of real life, the detectives go to a bar, only to stumble out seven months later.

Really.

Yesterday, the Philadelphia district attorney's office called a press conference. A big break in the Harrison case! Charges to be filed! A well-liked receiver caught in a crime! Uh, not really.

The lead to the latest report: "A gun owned by Indianapolis Colts star Marvin Harrison was used in an April shooting, but investigators still can't determine who pulled the trigger, the city's chief prosecutor said Tuesday."

That's their big break! They know Harrison owned the gun, and have no idea who shot it! The DA admitted they think they know who fired the gun, but can't prove it. Now, how again is this different from the case status nearly eight months ago?

People, we're not going to tell you to head to Philly for that non-fatal shooting spree you've always wanted to go on, but we've heard of places where the quickly-rotating wheels of justice are a little tougher to dodge.
