The NEXT: Can't Miss Kid
Matt Wieters is gonna be good.

The savior?
In a way, for not having an established MLB career yet, Matt Wieters is already old news. (Keith Law of ESPN.Com is labeling him a top prospect, after all, and lest you forget, we were all over this kid when we were releasing this year's NEXT candidates and winners.) Two things to add to the discussion: we have a friend who bleeds orange and white tell us every week, "Just waiting for the Matt Wieters Era." He's saying this as Nick Markakis is signing big-money deals. Second point: Nate Silver of Baseball Prospectus and fivethirtyeight was in our office today and says Wieters might be one of the best PECOTA prospects ever. Silver's careful to add: "It's possible the three best teams in baseball are in that division." Truth. Hey, did you know the C for one of those teams also went to G-Tech? He's pretty good, all things considered.
