A Second Look: College Football Studs of '05
Vince Young, Reggie Bush, and Matt Leinart: it's a different picture three years later.

Now what, eh?
Apparently, Kerry Collins is going to be the starting QB for the Tennessee Titans next year. This Sunday, Kurt Warner will start the Super Bowl for the Arizona Cardinals. Whither Vince Young and Matt Leinart, heroes of the ridiculous 2005 college football season and the greatest game ever played (in the eyes of some)? Riding the pine.
While we're on this topic, the New Orleans Saints didn't make the playoffs. Reggie Bush was leading the NFL in rushing early last season for a minute, but it's possible most people know him right now not for his cutback skills, but for his girlfriend. In the 2006 NEXT issue (check out the complete NEXT archives here, btw), we named Bush as a NEXT athlete while also nodding to VY. Is this the football equivalent of Redick/Morrison, or are these guys going to reach their potential soon? Discuss.
