"See if you can get Riles to give me a shout-out."
As a guest of the NFL at the Super Bowl on Sunday, heroic Hudson River Miracle captain Chesley (Sully) Sullenberger was still waiting for his big national audience as the focus of an upcoming 60 Minutes interview with Katie Couric on Sunday. But he was kind enough to give his first thoughts on the water landing to our own Rick Reilly, to whom Sully said the experience was still, "Shocking. It was very quiet as we worked, my co-pilot and I. We were a team. But to have zero thrust coming out of those engines was shocking—the silence."
Now, the Daily News and Drudge are fascinated that the captain would talk to a sports publication first.
