These people just had a far-reaching discussion about life. The conclusions? (a) Pitt's still a No. 1 seed and (b) most of them are now deceased.

"Far-reaching" is a fun thing to say in conversation, especially when you're completely in over your head in a dialogue. If someone says to you "blah blah blah…what do you think," it's always good to respond with a sentence like "Man, that's pretty far-reaching." (Twirl your finger around a nearby cocktail glass, if one is available.) This week, though, it applies: basically everything that happens on the college hardwood has three-week long implications for the sport. (Hey, while you're here, try out this Bracket Predictor thing, will cha?) NFL: free agency is "far-reaching" too. NBA: Kobe vs. the Spurs also "far-reaching." Mag content? Fo' shizz.
