This rivalry has become fun.

These two know each other pretty well. They probably don't like each other.
Marshall Bell is an intern for ESPN The Magazine's video unit. (Yep, magazines make videos. Cool, eh?) He's from the Philly area yet now attends school in New York. Interesting perspective on Phillies vs. Mets, so we gave him a manual typewriter and let him bang this out.
The Phils-Mets rivalry pretty much ended after the Mets "choked" for the second straight year and the Phils won the World Series, right? Say that on a New York subway and see who punches you first.
The National League's greatest rivalry (sorry, SF/LA) kicks off '09 style tonight when the Fightin' Phils' host Mr. Met's gang. It's sure to be crazy.
Here now, a few reasons why the Mets-Phils rivalry may be straight up silly good this year.
1. Cole Hamels called the Met's "Choke Artists" All this choking talk is bound to get somebody riled up. Check out WPIX-TV's advertisement for this weekend's series.
2. Raul Ibanez is arguably the Phils' best player in April, Ibaņez is a newbie: a three year, $31.5 million seamer signed this past offseason to replace perhaps the Mets' most hated Phillie, Pat Burrell. Will Ibanez replace Burrell as the new Met killer? Can Met fans boo him like this?
3. Mets' New Bullpen: A small, meandering child could figure out that the Mets' would have run away with the NL East last year if they didn't have such a dismal bullpen. Can J.J. Putz and K-Rod put that talk to rest? Start debating who's better: K-Rod or Lidge? We'll see you in a few hours.
4. Check out what George Thorogood is saying about his favorite team, the Mets. Anything this guy says is straight truth, right?
