No player is more closely tied to his team's ongoing failures than Olli Jokinen. The Panthers have failed to skate in the playoffs for seven consecutive seasons, which means the captain has played in 723 NHL games—that includes his one season with the Kings and Isles—without skating on postseason ice. And while fans aren't exactly giving sympathy votes to the players, they still feel Jokinen's pain. "I feel like Olli has the weight of the world on his shoulders," says CatWoman34 on forums.floridapanthers.com. "He has this record looming [over] his head, a failed season & and rumors of his departure at every corner." As Jokinen told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, "Probably a lot of people are wondering, Why the hell is this guy still playing here? & I feel like the Panthers gave me a chance to be a player in this league. I don't want to let them down and go somewhere else." A good captain always goes down with his ship. Again. -Jason Catania
