Crossing over Michael Jordan. Stepping over Tyronn Lue. And being so over practice. "Not a game, not a game, not a game. We talkin 'bout practice." Just a few of my lasting memories of Allen Iverson.

I say lasting, because he might be done for good, after Philadelphia announced this week that "The Answer" would not return for the rest of the NBA season. He's been absent for a month, dealing with a sick child and hasn't played since February 20th. If he has played his last game as a 76er, Iverson will finish his career with 19,931 career points for the 76ers - second all-time in franchise history behind Hal Greer's 21,586.

But it's his heart and passion for the game that's he'll be remembered for, as one of the best small men to ever lace up a pair of sneakers. I know he's had a few issues in his personal life. But really, who hasn't? I appreciate A-I the player. Next to the Air Jordan, he had the best shoe. And despite never winning a title, Allen Iverson changed the game.

In August 2006, Jay Harris was named anchor of the 6pm ET edition of SportsCenter. Harris joined ESPN in February 2003 as an ESPNEWS and SportsCenter anchor. Prior to that, Harris was a news anchor/reporter from WPGH-TV in Pittsburgh. He received a Silver World Medal from the New York Festival Awards, a Robert L. Vann Award from the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, and an EXCEL Award from the Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals.
