Happy New Year, Gabby Douglas!

Gabby Douglas, who won two gold medals at the London Olympics, gets double the celebration today as she turns 18 and rings in 2014.

While you’re finalizing your New Year’s resolutions and counting down the final seconds of 2013, gymnast Gabby Douglas is celebrating her 18th birthday. The 2012 all-around Olympic gold medalist and “Fierce Five” member can now legally vote and buy lottery tickets. While Douglas took the year off from competition, she returned to training and has her sights on the 2016 Rio Games. Despite her absence from the medal podiums in 2013, "The Flying Squirrel" nabbed the Teen Choice award for best female athlete and the Subway Sportswoman of the Year at the BET Awards. She also released her second book, “Raising the Bar,” in April and was a guest judge on “So You Think You Can Dance” in the fall. “The Gabby Douglas Story,” a Lifetime movie currently in production, is set to be released in 2014. So raise your (sparkling cider) glasses to Gabby Douglas and to a new year for us all!
