NEW YORK -- The Arena Football League is delaying its dispersal draft and free-agent signings pending a meeting between the league and its players union.

AFL spokesman Chris McCloskey said Tuesday the two sides must first discuss several matters but wouldn't identify which issues needed to be addressed. The new dates will be announced after the meeting, which is expected to take place this week, he said.

The dispersal draft was originally scheduled for Tuesday. Teams would have been able to start announcing free agent signings Wednesday.

Sports Business Journal reported Monday that AFL owners had approved a tentative deal with Platinum Equity in which the company would to invest up to $100 million and assume management control of the league.
