Alfonzo scores record fifth defensive TD in Rush win

CHICAGO -- Linebacker DeJuan Alfonzo scored his record fifth defensive touchdown of the year and the Chicago Rush beat the Kansas City Brigade 48-21 on Saturday night to earn the Central Division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Tied at 21 with six minutes to go in the first half, the defending Arena Bowl champions held Kansas City (10-6) scoreless the rest of the way.

Matt D'Orazio completed 18 of 24 passes for 187 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Bobby Sippio caught nine passes for 90 yards and three touchdowns.

The Rush (12-4) set team records for wins in a season (12), points scored (869) and fewest points per game allowed (44.9).
