The Blaze have been on fire lately.

Utah downed Los Angeles 65-56 on Monday to win for the fifth time in six games after an 0-9 start to the season. With their latest victory, the Blaze (5-10) climbed to fourth place in the American Conference.

The Avengers (4-10), meanwhile, suffered their fourth straight loss but still remain in the playoff picture. L.A. is seventh in standings.

Quarterback Joe Germaine was 16-for-30 for 240 yards and six touchdowns for Utah. Huey Whittaker had five catches for 64 yards and three TDs. Aaron Boone added five catches for 78 yards and a score.

Los Angeles quarterback Sonny Cumbie was 23-for-42 for 282 yards and four TDs. Kevin Ingram had 12 catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns for the Avengers .
