UFC adds two bouts to Pittsburgh event
UFC officials on Wednesday announced the addition of two bouts to the June 26 event at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
A welterweight fight between T.J. Grant and Matt Riddle, plus a lightweight matchup featuring Nik Lentz and Charles Oliveira, are the new additions. The UFC on Versus 4 event will be headlined by welterweights Nate Marquardt and Anthony Johnson.
Grant (16-5) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to the now-retired Ricardo Almeida at UFC 124 last December. The Canadian fighter has alternated wins and losses in his past six fights and has never suffered back-to-back losses in his career.
Riddle (5-2) also will look to get back in the win column after dropping a unanimous decision to Sean Pierson in his previous fight. A former contestant on "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series, Riddle is 5-0 in bouts fought within the U.S., but 0-2 on international cards.
For Lentz (21-3-2), it will be his second fight this year. He posted a thrilling third-round submission win over Waylon Lowe at UFC Fight Night 24 in March. The 155-pounder has yet to lose in the UFC, posting five wins and one draw since joining the promotion in September 2009.
He'll face one of the UFC's brightest prospects in Oliveira (14-1), whose only loss came at the hands of highly ranked lightweight contender Jim Miller in his previous fight. Prior to the loss, the Brazilian fighter had six knockouts and seven submissions.
