I promise this will be painless.

Look, it's no secret that most of us have fixed our attention on football, but there is a tiny bit of baseball left to be played. Most of the older rotisserie-style leagues play this out until the very last out of the very last game, without these wimpy playoffs. So there are still moves to be made! And they are&

NL Tout Wars

• Steven Pearce: $4 Jeff Erickson, Rotowire ($3)
Minority WHIP: Pearce shares a name with the Assistant Minority Whip in Congress, so here's a nifty way to tell them apart:

Steve Pearce, R-NM: 60 years old. Ranking member on the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. Operates a small oilfield services company called Lea Fishing Tools. Born in Larnesa,Texas.

Steve Pearce, SS/OF-PIT 24 years old. Hit 20 home runs and batted well over .300 in Double-A and Triple-A. Could steal an occasional base, netting you an extra point in the standings if things are tight. Born in Lakeland, Fla.

Jonathan Sanchez: $4 Scott Wilderman ($4, $3)
• Tom Sheam: $1 Peter Kreutzer, Askrotoman.com
"I want you to kill all the gophers": For all the heartstring pulling Shearn has orchestrated over the last two weeks, he has managed to actually back it up with some stellar pitching. In three starts, Shearn has produced a 3.12 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.

If you'd like a great read on Shearn's journey to Cincinnati (in the long, abstract sense; not his actual car ride from Louisville to Ohio), take a look at this story.

• Mike Wuertz: $1 Mike Lombardo, Wise Guy Sports
Matt Albers: $0 Wilderman
• Nyjer Morgan: $1 Cory Schwartz, MLB.com
They should have kept Rajai: Imagine an outfield of Nyjer Morgan and Rajai Davis. That could have been Littlefield's lasting legacy as GM. Instead, we get to watch Nyjer and his blazing speed chase down hits that Matt Morris is giving up. Still, Nyjer is fun to watch on the basepaths. He has stolen more than 50 bases twice in his minor league career, and his batting average has slowly climbed to better than .300. He will team with Steve Pearce (the one born in Florida) to showcase Pittsburgh's future for the rest of the season. Keeper leagues may want to take note.

AL Tout Wars

Jacoby Ellsbury: $53 Joe Sheehan, Baseball Prospectus ($52, $15, $15, $8, $6)
The Ellsbury Doughboy!: Ellsbury is Boston's top hitting prospect and for good reason. He hit .452 in a quick stop at Double-A, and is currently batting .415 with four steals and two home runs for the Sox. With chronically-injured J.D. Drew and Bobby Kielty in the outfield, and Wily Mo Pena in D.C., Ellsbury has an excellent chance to see playing time even after Manny Ramirez returns.

• Ian Kennedy: $21 Jason Grey, FantasyBaseball.com ($20, $15, $8)
Clay Buchholz: $9 Ron Shandler, BaseballHQ ($8)
A No-Hitter nets two bids?: But there's a reason. Terry Francona has made it very clear that Buchholz has seen the last of his time in the rotation, and that he will be seeing spot duty out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season So that will teach him to throw a no-hitter. Naturally, in his first time out since the no-hitter, Buchholz (remember to pick Clay, not Taylor if you're searching for him on the free agent wire) pitched just three innings, but still got the win.

Tike Redman: $6 Sam Walker, Fantasyland ($5)
Charlton Jimerson: $1 Shandler

Mixed Tout Wars

Woody Williams: $1 Larry Schechter, Sandlot Shrink
Jayson Werth: $1 Schechter
Nate McLouth: $1 Schechter
• Wily Mo Pena: $1 Schechter
Andy Sonnanstine: $1 Mike Salfino, RotoAction.com
Group hug!: Larry and Mike are sitting in the one and two positions in Mixed Tout. The standings fluctuate daily, but Larry has had a stronghold on first place since 2005. Seriously, the man has obliterated all other teams for three straight years, and is really only getting his first challenge now, in mid-September. So what does he do? Picks up four new players, and ignores the old adage, "If it ain't broke&" Of the five, the most notable addition is Nate McLouth, who has stolen five bases in the past two weeks.
