The Raptors tend to give up a lot of production to opposing shooting guards, so make sure you start the Heat's Ricky Davis. He's been pretty awful against Toronto this season, but with Dwyane Wade out of the picture, points are going to have to come from Ricky. To be fair, he's actually been efficient lately, averaging 19.4 points on 58 percent shooting in his past five games. Throw in 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals and you've got a well-rounded fantasy player. Last time he went up against the Sixers, Allen Iverson went for 38 points and 8 assists on 14-for-25 shooting from the floor. The Sixers don't really have anyone quick enough to check AI besides Louis Williams, and Williams doesn't have the experience to guard a player as smart as Iverson. What's more impressive, the Nuggets won that meeting handily and had 33 assists on 44 baskets. Clearly, their offense saw little resistance against what is usually a pretty good 76ers defense. This time around, the game is in Philly, but I still like the Nuggets. The Sixers are at their best in the up-tempo, but if they try to run with Denver, they're likely to get blown away. Start your Nuggets in this one, and see if they can match their previous performance. With Chris Kaman out indefinitely, Corey Maggette has been going nuts. Sure, the team is getting destroyed every night, but Maggette is averaging 25.2 points on 53 percent shooting in his past five games. He also gets to the line a ton and makes more than 81 percent of his free throws, and he has hit 13 3s in that same five-game stretch. So, if you are counting, he's a major, major producer in points, field goal percentage, free-throw percentage and 3s. He's a pretty poor rebounder for a guy who's lining up at a forward spot, but you should be starting him every night if you are lucky enough to own him. Go ahead, by the way, and start all your Warriors against the Clippers. Kaman's injury means their defense is even more pathetic than it was for most of the season.
The Heat's Daequan Cook is an intriguing option if you need scoring or are in a keeper league. Cook is playing a ton of minutes lately, 37.8 per game in his past five. His averages are less than impressive at 11.4 points and 5.0 rebounds from the guard position, but he has big-game potential, as he showed against the Clippers when he went for 23 points and hit five 3-pointers. Miami will continue to use the rest of the season to see what it has in Cook, so if you are willing to play the matchups -- against Toronto Wednesday night could be a good one -- pick him up for scoring and 3s in deep and keeper leagues. Another good source of points down the stretch could be the Pacers' Flip Murray. Murray is averaging 13.6 points in just 22.4 minutes in his past five games and has replaced Travis Diener as the starter at point guard in the past two games against the Magic and the Knicks. He'll continue to get minutes down the stretch, and I think his assists totals will rise as he gets comfortable in coach Jim O'Brien's system. If you haven't already, you need to go pick up the Timberwolves' Ryan Gomes. In his past five games he's averaging 18.2 points, 6.6 boards and 1.4 steals. Those are not numbers you can generally just pick up on the waiver wire. What's more, he's going up against Memphis, a team that's allowing opponents to shoot better than 48 percent from the floor on the season. It's going to be a big night for the Wolves and a big night for Gomes.
