Timberwolves swingman Corey Brewer likely will be out for the rest of the season, and I'd expect a few players to claim a piece of the 20 or so minutes per game he was playing. In particular, Ryan Gomes should see some more action at the small forward position, and Mike Miller also might see his minutes increase. Miller has had two fantastic games in his past three, but the one in the middle was a real dud. He'll do OK against the Magic's guards Wednesday night, but he'll struggle from time to time when the bigger Hedo Turkoglu guards him. In general, you want the Wolves' point guard, Randy Foye, in your lineup most nights, and if you are in one of the 18.4 percent of leagues in which he is unowned, by all means pick him up. Foye is averaging 18.4 points and 7.2 assists per game in his past five, and he should have no trouble against the Magic's thinned-out backcourt. Make sure you have Andrew Bynum in your lineup for the Lakers against the Sixers, because opposing centers have been killing Philly this year. The Sixers likely will try to avoid double-teaming the post because they would seem to have the size to defend the Lakers at every spot, but that would mean single coverage on Bynum, and I don't think Samuel Dalembert will be up to the task.
Consider picking up Knicks point guard Anthony Roberson for the game against the Cavs on Wednesday night. Nate Robinson and Chris Duhon are both a little banged-up, and Roberson has played more than 20 minutes in the past two games. At this point, anyone on the Knicks who gets minutes is a viable option, and although the Cavaliers are a very good defensive team, they are vulnerable at the point of attack because their point guards aren't good defenders. Roberson should be good for a couple of 3-pointers and a few assists, if nothing else. Before a really ugly shooting night against the Bulls, the Sixers' Lou Williams had three double-digit scoring games in a row. Williams isn't playing many minutes, but he can really score. In his past five games, he is averaging 10.2 points in just 18.8 minutes. He's missing a ton of 3-pointers, but as far as I'm concerned, it's good that he's taking them. He's also getting to the line a lot and converting; he is 17-for-19 during that same stretch. One would have to believe he'll start getting Willie Green's minutes at some point because although Green has been playing above his head in the early part of the season, he still isn't a viable NBA shooting guard. At any rate, Williams might be a good pickup against the Lakers, and for any other night when you need some scoring. Washington isn't defending any position particularly well in the early part of the season, but the loss of Brendan Haywood has basically destroyed the Wizards' ability to even pretend to defend opposing centers. Obviously, everyone owns and will start Greg Oden at this point, but in deeper leagues, if you really need rebounds and blocks, you may want to think about giving Joel Przybilla a look against those Wizards. He'll help your field goal percentage, block a shot or two, and rebound a lot if given even a small number of minutes.
