Start 'em, sit 'em

Andris Biedrins
Rocky Widner/NBAE/Getty ImagesAndris Biedrins should have a heyday against the Thunder's undersized defense.
It should be fun watching the Thunder and the Warriors play matador defense Wednesday, especially for Andris Biedrins owners. The Thunder don't exactly have a lot of muscle up front, and centers have been killing them this season. … Samuel Dalembert is still having trouble fitting into the Sixers' offensive schemes -- he hasn't taken more than six shots in a game in more than a month -- but in his past five games he's averaging 10.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks. He'll face one of the worst rebounding teams in the league in the Clippers, so he should be able to keep it going for at least one more game. … The Rockets have been a fine defensive team all season, but they've actually given up some production to opposing centers. On Monday, the Wizards' Andray Blatche had 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists. On Saturday, the Jazz's two-headed monster of Kosta Koufos and Kyrylo Fesenko combined for 26 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks. The list goes on. I'm guessing the Rockets will manage to beat the Bucks, but don't be surprised if Andrew Bogut puts up good numbers. … I'm curious to see how the Pistons will defend the Nets' Devin Harris and Vince Carter this time around. They played soon after Allen Iverson was traded to the Pistons, and Harris went crazy, scoring 38 points and getting to the line 24 times. After a terrible first quarter, the Nets dominated the rest of the game and won handily. I would expect there to be some adjustments, but it could be Carter who has the big game this time around.

Waiver-wire pickups

Although he has averaged 14.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 30.4 minutes in his past five games, Larry Hughes is owned in only 9 percent of fantasy leagues at the moment. My guess is that because he's not starting and because we're used to Hughes' being a bit of a disappointment, people are reluctant to rely on him. But as a waiver-wire pickup? I'm pretty sure you can use those numbers, and his minutes should remain consistent while Luol Deng misses time. … If you're looking for scoring, especially 3-pointers, the Warriors' Marco Belinelli is probably available in your league. Beyond having a wildly easy matchup against the Thunder, Belinelli is averaging 15.6 points and 2.4 3s in his past five games with Corey Maggette out of the lineup indefinitely. … Similarly, you might want to look at J.R. Smith for the Nuggets against the Raptors on Wednesday. The Raptors' defense hasn't exactly been stellar lately, and with Carmelo Anthony still struggling (4-for-17 shooting against the Hawks on Monday), Smith should get significant run off the bench.
