Although I expect the Cavaliers to handle the Bucks on Monday, Milwaukee's Mo Williams looks like a great play against Cleveland's Daniel Gibson. The Cavs have given up a lot of production to perimeter players this year, and they probably will focus most of their attention on Michael Redd, which should open up things for Williams. I'll be starting all my Pacers against the Knicks, who should have trouble with Indiana's fast-paced style. In particular, Troy Murphy -- whom coach O'Brien tends to sit against smaller, quicker lineups -- should benefit, taking advantage of Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph on the perimeter. With Pau Gasol out indefinitely, the Grizzlies are leaning on Rudy Gay to play big, especially against smaller teams. Gay had a huge night Saturday against Orlando, and against the Warriors, there's the potential for a major, major breakout. In the continued absence of Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge, I'm expecting another big night out of Travis Outlaw. I think he's a tough matchup for New Orleans. The Hornets don't have the type of long, athletic player who can defend him unless they play rookie Julian Wright, which they haven't seemed willing to do.
Cleveland's recently signed big man, Anderson Varejao, has been getting a decent number of minutes (25 per game) in his first three games back. The production isn't there yet -- he's averaging only five points and seven rebounds -- but he's a pretty good matchup against the Bucks, who can play a lot of quicker bigs, such as Yi Jianlian and Charlie Villanueva. I'm not ready to add him yet, but if he has a good game, people will notice and pick him up quickly. Minnesota's Corey Brewer is seeing increased minutes with Greg Buckner out, and I think he'll start producing soon. He was 2-for-13 from the floor Saturday night against Milwaukee, but I'm encouraged by the fact that he got 13 shots up. I think he could have a nice game against Miami if Ricky Davis doesn't take him seriously. Someone on the Grizzlies is going to get extra minutes in the absence of Pau Gasol, and I think Hakim Warrick is a good bet, at least against Golden State. It looks as though Memphis will play guys depending on the matchup, and Warrick is perfect for the sort of pace we should see in this game. If he can get steady minutes with Gasol out, he's a great long-term pickup.
