Updates/analysis (most recent first)

8:04 p.m. ET -- LaDainian Tomlinson active -- The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that LaDainian Tomlinson (ankle, probable) is active for the Chargers. Expect him to start and get the bulk of the carries, though it's an unfavorable matchup for him and the Chargers' running game. In other Chargers news, LB Shawne Merriman (groin, questionable) is active.

8:01 p.m. ET -- Willie Parker inactive -- Confirming our earlier report, Willie Parker (toe, doubtful) is inactive for the Steelers, as expected. Matt Spaeth (hip, probable) and S Troy Polamalu (knee, out) are also on the team's inactives list.

3:27 p.m. ET -- DeMarcus Ware active -- The Dallas Morning News reports that LB DeMarcus Ware (neck, probable) is active for the Cowboys.

3:26 p.m. ET -- Marion Barber active -- The Dallas Morning News reports that Marion Barber (thigh, probable) is active for the Cowboys, while Felix Jones (knee, out) is inactive. Expect Barber to start, though he might be in a straight timeshare with Tashard Choice this week, hurting both of their value.

3:07 p.m. ET -- Frank Gore out, Vernon Davis active -- The 49ers' official Web site reports that Frank Gore (ankle, out) is inactive, though Vernon Davis (shin, probable) is active. Coming off a standout Week 3, Davis is a decent fantasy tight end this week.

3:05 p.m. ET -- Marc Bulger inactive -- The Rams' official Web site reports that Marc Bulger (right shoulder, questionable) is inactive, as expected. Kyle Boller will get the start, though he's not an advisable fantasy option. In other Rams news, CB Ron Bartell (thigh, questionable) is also inactive.

2:59 p.m. ET -- Joey Porter inactive -- ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that LB Joey Porter (hamstring, questionable) is inactive for the Dolphins, as expected.

2:57 p.m. ET -- Mike Bell inactive -- The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Mike Bell (knee, out) is inactive for the Saints. No surprises here; Pierre Thomas remains the top fantasy choice from this backfield.

2:56 p.m. ET -- Lance Moore active -- The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Lance Moore (hamstring, probable) is active for the Saints. Moore isn't a recommended fantasy option accounting for the matchup, but he's not a terrible play in deeper PPR formats.

2:50 p.m. ET -- Stokley, Hillis active -- The Broncos' official Web site reports that both Brandon Stokley (thigh, questionable) and Peyton Hillis (head, probable) are active. Neither is a recommended fantasy play.

2:46 p.m. ET -- Jets defenders active -- The Jets' official Web site reports that DT Kris Jenkins (groin, probable), S Jim Leonhard (knee, probable), CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring, probable) and S Kerry Rhodes (knee, probable) are all active.

2:44 p.m. ET -- Bills inactives -- The Bills' official Web site reports that DT Kyle Williams (groin, probable) is active, but CB Leodis McKelvin (fibula, out), LB Paul Posluszny (forearm, out), S Bryan Scott (ankle, out) and S Donte Whitner (thumb, out) are all inactive. Advantage: Dolphins.

12:37 p.m. ET -- Tomlinson to play, Parker to sit -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that LaDainian Tomlinson (ankle, probable) will be active for the Chargers, but Willie Parker (toe, doubtful) will not. Plan accordingly as these are notes for the night game. Obviously this means Rashard Mendenhall get a boost to his fantasy stock, while Darren Sproles takes a hit in that regard.

12:33 p.m. ET -- Bears defenders healthy -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both LB Lance Briggs (foot, questionable) and DE Alex Brown (ankle, questionable) are active for the Bears.

12:33 p.m. ET -- Ernie Sims active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that DE Dewayne White (hamstring, doubtful) is inactive, though LB Ernie Sims (shoulder, questionable) is active, for the Lions.

12:32 p.m. ET -- Jerod Mayo inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB Jerod Mayo (knee, doubtful) is inactive for the Patriots, though both CB Leigh Bodden (thigh, probable) and DT Vince Wilfork (ankle, questionable) are active.

12:32 p.m. ET -- Ray Lewis active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB Ray Lewis (head, probable) is active for the Ravens.

12:31 p.m. ET -- Colts inactives -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that S Bob Sanders (knee, out), LB Gary Brackett (knee, questionable) and CB Kelvin Hayden (hamstring, questionable) are inactive for the Colts, but DE Dwight Freeney (quadricep, questionable) is active.

12:30 p.m. ET -- Brian Cushing active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB Brian Cushing (shoulder, probable) is active for the Texans.

12:28 p.m. ET -- Seahawks inactives -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB LeRoy Hill (groin, out) and CB Josh Wilson (ankle, questionable) are inactive for the Seahawks, but LB Lofa Tatupu (hamstring, probable) is active.

12:27 p.m. ET -- Raiders inactives -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that G Robert Gallery (fibula, out) is inactive, though CB Nnamdi Asomugha (wrist, probable) and S Michael Huff (ribs, probable) are active for the Raiders.

12:26 p.m. ET -- Browns defenders active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that DE Kenyon Coleman (groin, questionable), DE Corey Williams (knee, questionable), DT Shaun Rogers (foot, probable), LB Kamerion Wimbley (shoulder, probable) and CB Eric Wright (hand, probable) are all active.

12:24 p.m. ET -- Gaines Adams active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that DE Gaines Adams (groin, questionable) is active for the Buccaneers.

12:23 p.m. ET -- More Buccaneers active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Earnest Graham (hamstring, probable), Mike Nugent (left quadricep, probable) and Maurice Stovall (knee, probable) are all active for the Buccaneers. Not one is a viable fantasy option for this week.

12:22 p.m. ET -- Byron Leftwich inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Byron Leftwich (hip, questionable) is inactive for the Buccaneers. No big loss; Josh Johnson was slated to start at quarterback anyway. Needless to say, you don't want to trust a rookie quarterback making his first career start.

12:21 p.m. ET -- Redskins defenders active -- The Redskins' official Web site reports that both CB DeAngelo Hall (ankle, probable) and DT Albert Haynesworth (glute, probable) are active.

12:19 p.m. ET -- Antonio Bryant active -- The Pewter Report reports that Antonio Bryant (knee, questionable) is active for the Buccaneers. Considering how much the Buccaneers spread the ball around, in addition to having a rookie at quarterback, Bryant isn't a great fantasy option this week.

12:18 p.m. ET -- LenDale White active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LenDale White (illness, probable) is active for the Titans. White is a flex consideration based on the possibility of goal-line carries. In other Titans news, CB Cortland Finnegan (hamstring, doubtful) is active. Bump up the Jaguars' passing game as a result.

12:16 p.m. ET -- Anthony Gonzalez inactive -- NFL.com reports that Anthony Gonzalez (knee, out) is inactive for the Colts as expected. Keep looking to Pierre Garcon as a sleeper play in deeper formats.

12:15 p.m. ET -- Matt Hasselbeck inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Matt Hasselbeck (rib, doubtful) is inactive for the Seahawks, as expected. Seneca Wallace will start at quarterback again, but the matchup is a poor one. Avoid Wallace.

12:13 p.m. ET -- Chris Brown active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Chris Brown (shin, questionable) and Andre Davis (concussion, probable) are both active for the Texans. Brown might continue to vulture goal-line carries, but is a risky fantasy play. Davis is a depth receiver; you can do better.

12:12 p.m. ET -- Chaz Schilens inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Chaz Schilens (foot, doubtful) is inactive, though Johnnie Lee Higgins (shoulder, probable) is active, for the Raiders. Ask yourself this: Do you really want any members of the Raiders' passing game?

12:11 p.m. ET -- Todd Heap active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both Todd Heap (back, probable) and Kelley Washington (groin, probable) are both active for the Ravens. No surprises here; Heap is a shakier play accounting for the matchup, but worth a look in most formats.

12:10 p.m. ET -- Derrick Mason active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Derrick Mason (illness, questionable) is active for the Ravens. Mason's owners can breathe a sigh of relief with this news. All seems fine.

12:08 p.m. ET -- Bengals IDP inactives -- The Bengals' official Web site reports that S Roy L. Williams (forearm, questionable) is inactive. The team also has CB Johnathan Joseph (foot, questionable), DT Domata Peko (neck, questionable), LB Rey Maualuga (knee, probable) and S Chinedum Ndukwe (hamstring, probable) active.

12:05 p.m. ET -- Cedric Benson active -- The Bengals' official Web site reports that Cedric Benson (knee, probable) is active, as expected. He has a fantastic matchup and is effectively a must-start.

11:56 a.m. ET -- Joey Galloway inactive -- ESPN Boston reports that Joey Galloway is inactive for the Patriots. Shows how much Galloway's stock has slipped.

11:55 a.m. ET -- Clinton Portis active -- Confirming our earlier report, Clinton Portis (calf, questionable) is active for the Redskins, so reports their official Web site.

11:53 a.m. ET -- Desmond Clark active -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Desmond Clark (rib, probable) is active for the Bears. Don't worry too much if you're a Greg Olsen owner; Clark will likely spend much of the day in a blocking role.

11:53 a.m. ET -- Matt Forte active -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Matt Forte (knee, probable) is active for the Bears, as expected. A breakout game might be coming against the lousy Lions defense.

11:51 a.m. ET -- Cadillac Williams to start -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Derrick Ward (knee, questionable) is inactive for the Buccaneers, though ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Cadillac Williams (knee, probable) is active and will start. Williams is worth using as a No. 2/flex.

11:47 a.m. ET -- Justin Tuck active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that CB Aaron Ross (hamstring, out) is inactive for the Giants, but DE Justin Tuck (shoulder, probable) is active. Tuck is a top-shelf IDP option.

11:43 a.m. ET -- Hicks active, but Hixon out -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Domenik Hixon (knee, out) is inactive for the Giants, but Hakeem Nicks (foot, probable) is active. Nicks is at best third on the depth chart, so don't expect much of a fantasy contribution from him.

11:41 a.m. ET -- Derrick Johnson active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB Derrick Johnson (groin, probable) is active for the Chiefs.

11:38 a.m. ET -- Dwayne Bowe active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Dwayne Bowe (hamstring, questionable) is active for the Chiefs. Bowe should get a good number of targets and is a fine fantasy play.

11:36 a.m. ET -- Ahmad Bradshaw active -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle, probable) is active for the Giants. Brandon Jacobs will start and should see the bulk of the rushing work to ease Bradshaw's burden, so look to him first for big fantasy numbers. Still, Bradshaw has some flex-play appeal.

11:36 a.m. ET -- Kevin Smith active -- Confirming our earlier report, the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Kevin Smith (shoulder, questionable) is active for the Lions.

11:34 a.m. ET -- Patriots get Wes Welker back -- The Patriots' official Web site reports that Wes Welker (knee, questionable) is active. He's well worth using in all fantasy leagues, especially PPR formats. Also, Tom Brady (right shoulder, probable) and Laurence Maroney (thigh, probable) are active. Brady remains a solid start, though Maroney should be avoided due to the tough matchup.

11:32 a.m. ET -- Phil Dawson inactive -- The Browns' official Web site reports that Phil Dawson (right calf, doubtful) is inactive. Expect Billy Cundiff to start at kicker again, not that fantasy owners want to take a look at Browns kickers right now.

11:30 a.m. ET -- Jamal Lewis inactive -- The Browns' official Web site reports that Jamal Lewis (hamstring, doubtful) is inactive. Jerome Harrison will start at running back, and with James Davis (shoulder, questionable) having been placed on season-ending injury reserve, Harrison makes for a fine flex play in these bye weeks.

11:14 a.m. ET -- Kevin Smith will play -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Kevin Smith (shoulder, questionable) will be active and start. This is a bit of a surprise; with Smith's shaky status all week it might be smart for fantasy owners to take a conservative approach with him. Still, Smith should see enough work to be a No. 2/flex option in these bye weeks.

11:08 a.m. ET -- Clinton Portis will play -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Clinton Portis (calf, questionable) will play in Week 4. It's unclear how much of a workload Portis will take on, and with his sluggish start to the season he's a riskier play than most. Still, in these bye weeks, consider him a No. 2/flex type.
