Updates/analysis (most recent first)

7:33 p.m. ET -- Brian Williams active -- The Falcons' official Web site reports that CB Brian Williams (eye, questionable) is active.

7:32 p.m. ET -- Ovie Mughelli inactive -- The Falcons' official Web site reports that Ovie Mughelli (calf, questionable) is inactive. This is a mild hit to the fantasy value of Michael Turner, as Mughelli traditionally serves in a lead-blocker role for the running back. Still, it's not like Turner should be benched in any fantasy leagues.

7:31 p.m. ET -- Jason Elam active -- The Falcons' official Web site reports that Jason Elam (left hamstring, probable) is active. He's fine to use in all fantasy leagues.

7:29 p.m. ET -- Gaines Adams inactive -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that newly-acquired DE Gaines Adams is inactive for the Bears. No surprise; Adams could use a full week of practice before being thrown into a regular role.

7:28 p.m. ET -- Adrian Peterson inactive -- The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Adrian Peterson (knee, doubtful) is inactive for the Bears. Garrett Wolfe will serve as Matt Forte's backup on Sunday night, though Forte's backups traditionally aren't even fantasy roster-worthy.

3:31 p.m. ET -- Bills getting healthier on defense -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB Paul Posluszny (forearm, probable) is active for the Bills, as are S Donte Whitner (thumb, probable), LB Kawika Mitchell (knee, out), LB Keith Ellison (knee, questionable) and CB Terrence McGee (knee, probable). S Bryan Scott (ankle, out), meanwhile, is inactive. Posluszny's return to the lineup is most notable, as that should shore up the team's defense over the middle. Jets tight end Dustin Keller takes a slight hit as a fantasy play.

3:30 p.m. ET -- Reed active, Parrish inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Josh Reed (fibula, probable) is active, though Roscoe Parrish (thigh, probable) is inactive, for the Bills. Reed is only a depth receiver for this conservative offense, and doesn't warrant your attention.

3:30 p.m. ET -- Jets defenders healthy -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both DE Shaun Ellis (knee, questionable) and S Kerry Rhodes (knee, probable) are active for the Jets.

3:28 p.m. ET -- Jerricho Cotchery inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring, doubtful) is inactive for the Jets. Brad Smith (quadricep, doubtful) will also sit this one out, leaving the team somewhat thin in the wide receiver department. Expect David Clowney to start, but Braylon Edwards benefits most in terms of an increased target total. Wallace Wright should serve as the team's No. 3 receiver this week.

3:28 p.m. ET -- Watson, Wilfork active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both Benjamin Watson (head, questionable) and DT Vince Wilfork (ankle, questionable) are active. Watson is really only for the desperate, being that he doesn't get a ton of targets each week.

3:27 p.m. ET -- Fred Taylor inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Fred Taylor (ankle, out) is inactive for the Patriots, as expected. Sammy Morris might be the obvious fantasy plug-in, but the matchup is actually unfavorable. If the Patriots divvy up the carries to some degree, don't be at all surprised, meaning Morris is a flex play in most leagues.

3:25 p.m. ET -- Tom Brady, Randy Moss active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both Tom Brady (right shoulder, probable) and Randy Moss (shoulder, probable) are active for the Patriots, as expected. They face a cakewalk matchup against a bruised-and-battered, struggling Titans defense.

3:24 p.m. ET -- Titans hurting defensively -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that CB Cortland Finnegan (hamstring, questionable), CB Nick Harper (forearm, out) and S Vincent Fuller (forearm, doubtful) are all inactive for the Titans, which leaves them particularly vulnerable in the secondary. Both S Michael Griffin (neck, questionable) and LB Stephen Tulloch (knee, probable) are active, but consider this one advantage Patriots.

3:17 p.m. ET -- Nate Burleson active -- The Seahawks' official Web site reports that Nate Burleson (back, probable) is active. He's a strong fantasy option -- practically top-tier -- accounting for the matchup.

3:16 p.m. ET -- Matt Hasselbeck active -- The Seahawks' official Web site reports that Matt Hasselbeck (rib, probable) is active, as expected. The only knock on his matchup is that he's still without Ts Walter Jones (knee, out) and Sean Locklear (ankle, out) and G Rob Sims (ankle, out), which hurts him in terms of pass protection. The matchup is favorable enough to activate him in most fantasy formats, though.

3:06 p.m. ET -- Cardinals defenders active -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that both DT Darnell Dockett (ankle, probable) and CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (finger, probable) are active.

3:05 p.m. ET -- Steve Breaston active -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that Steve Breaston (knee, questionable) is active. Even as the team's No. 3 wide receiver, he sees enough targets to be worthwhile to fantasy owners during the bye weeks.

3:04 p.m. ET -- Spach inactive, Patrick active -- The Cardinals' official Web site reports that Stephen Spach (ankle, out) is inactive, though Ben Patrick is active. Patrick should serve as the team's tight end, not that fantasy owners want to use Cardinals tight ends if they can help it.

2:57 p.m. ET -- Donovan McNabb active -- The Eagles' official Web site reports that Donovan McNabb (rib, probable) is active, as expected. He'll wear a flak jacket for the second straight week but is a strong fantasy choice facing the miserable Raiders. In other Eagles news, CB Sheldon Brown (abdomen, probable) is active.

2:56 p.m. ET -- Kevin Curtis inactive, Maclin to start -- The Eagles' official Web site reports that Kevin Curtis (knee, questionable) is inactive again, giving Jeremy Maclin another start as the X-receiver. Maclin is a decent enough No. 3/4 fantasy option.

2:55 p.m. ET -- Raiders defenders active -- The Eagles' official Web site reports that DE Greg Ellis (knee, questionable), CB Nnamdi Asomugha (wrist, probable) and LB Kirk Morrison (knee, probable) are all active for the Raiders.

2:53 p.m. ET -- Darren McFadden inactive -- The Eagles' official Web site also reports that Darren McFadden (knee, out) is inactive for the Raiders, as expected. Justin Fargas and Michael Bush will share the carries again, presumably, with Bush a bit better desperation play for fantasy owners as the likely goal-line back.

2:52 p.m. ET -- Chaz Schilens inactive -- The Eagles' official Web site reports that Chaz Schilens (foot, questionable) is inactive for the Raiders, their Week 6 opponent. Louis Murphy and Darrius Heyward-Bey will start for the Raiders yet again, though fantasy owners should stay far, far away from this offense.

12:28 p.m. ET -- Garrett Hartley inactive -- A note for those of you debating kickers: Garrett Hartley is inactive for the Saints, which clears up any confusion whether he or John Carney will start. It's still Carney's gig.

12:18 p.m. ET -- More Buccaneers inactives -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Earnest Graham (hamstring, probable) and Jerramy Stevens (quadricep, probable) are active for the Buccaneers, while B.J. Askew (back, out) is inactive. With Askew out, Graham is probably going to be needed to block a fair share, so don't bother with him in fantasy.

12:18 p.m. ET -- James Farrior active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB James Farrior (elbow, probable) is active for the Steelers.

12:17 p.m. ET -- Mendenhall to get "two-thirds" the work -- ESPN's Ken Holtzman reports that Rashard Mendenhall should get about two-thirds of the rushing work for the Steelers this week. This only strengthens Mendenhall's already-favorable matchup.

12:13 p.m. ET -- Browns IDP inactives -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that LB Eric Barton (neck, questionable), DE Kenyon Coleman (groin, questionable), LB D'Qwell Jackson (hamstring, questionable) and DT Shaun Rogers (foot, probable) are all active, good news for their owners in IDP leagues. LB Kamerion Wimbley (shoulder, probable) is inactive, however, which does hurt the pass defense. Good news, Ben Roethlisberger owners!

12:13 p.m. ET -- Steve Heiden inactive -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Steve Heiden (knee, questionable) is inactive for the Browns, while Robert Royal (foot, probable) is active. Just letting you know the story with Browns tight ends, if you really want to dig that deep (we don't advise it).

12:10 p.m. ET -- Phil Dawson inactive again -- ESPn's John Clayton reports that Phil Dawson (right calf, questionable) is inactive for the Browns. Billy Cundiff will kick for them again, and as usual, isn't worth your attention.

12:09 p.m. ET -- Jamal Lewis active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Jamal Lewis (hamstring, probable) is active for the Browns. He should start and is a decent enough flex type for this week.

12:07 p.m. ET -- Thomas, Bell both active for Saints -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Pierre Thomas (hamstring, probable) and Mike Bell (knee, probable) are both active for the Saints. Expect a timeshare to some degree, but the Saints should run the football a good share against the tough Giants defense. Thomas is a fine No. 2/flex play.

12:05 p.m. ET -- Wynn inactive, Jackson active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Brandon Jackson (ankle, probable) is active for the Packers, while DeShawn Wynn (knee, out) is inactive. Jackson will step in as the No. 2 back in Green Bay this week, but don't bother with him in fantasy. In other Packers news, S Atari Bigby (knee, probable) and DT Ryan Pickett (hip, probable) are active.

12:01 p.m. ET -- Morris, Pettigrew active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both Maurice Morris (hip, questionable) and Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring, probable) are active for the Lions. Morris' active status is a tad surprising, though Kevin Smith remains the starter and a good fantasy play. In other Lions news, DE Dewayne White (hamstring, questionable) is inactive, while LB Ernie Sims (shoulder, probable) is active.

11:59 a.m. ET -- Matthew Stafford inactive -- Confirming our earlier report, Matthew Stafford (knee, questionable) is inactive for the Lions. Daunte Culpepper will start at quarterback, though he's a poor fantasy choice.

11:57 a.m. ET -- Vikings defenders active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both DE Ray Edwards (hamstring, probable) and CB Cedric Griffin (hand, probable) are active for the Vikings.

11:56 a.m. ET -- Percy Harvin active -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that Percy Harvin (shoulder, questionable) is active for the Vikings. Harvin will occupy his usual slot receiver role, and is more of a No. 3/4 option in deeper leagues.

11:54 a.m. ET -- Texans defenders active -- The Texans' official Web site reports that LB Brian Cushing (foot, questionable), DE Mario Williams (shoulder, probable) and LB DeMeco Ryans (shoulder, probable) are all active. Great news for those of youy who own them in IDP formats.

11:52 a.m. ET -- Mark Clayton active -- The Ravens' official Web site reports that Mark Clayton (shoulder, probable) is active. He's a so-so fantasy option for those desperate in deeper leagues. In other Ravens news, T Jared Gaither (neck, doubtful) is inactive, which is a hit to Joe Flacco's pass protection, while DT Haloti Ngata (back, probable) is active for the defense.

11:52 a.m. ET -- Calvin Johnson inactive -- Updating our previous report, Calvin Johnson (knee, questionable) is inactive for the Lions. Expect Dennis Northcutt to start in Johnson's place.

11:50 a.m. ET -- Antonio Bryant active -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Antonio Bryant (knee, probable) is active for the Buccaneers. His so-so quarterback saps his fantasy appeal, but if you need Bryant as a No. 3/4, he's fine to use.

11:47 a.m. ET -- Parker, Polamalu active -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that both Willie Parker (toe, probable) and S Troy Polamalu (knee, probable) are active for the Steelers. Rashard Mendenhall is still expected to start, reported the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette previously, making him a solid play accounting for the soft matchup. At worst, Mendenhall should get half the carries. Polamalu's return helps boost the defense.

11:44 a.m. ET -- Jonathan Stewart active -- The Rock Hill Herald reports that Jonathan Stewart (achilles, probable) is active for the Panthers. He's a decent flex play, as he's seeing increased carries to cut into DeAngelo Williams' workload. Williams is a solid play, though. In other Panthers news, Dante Rosario (ankle, questionable) is active, though not a great fantasy choice seeing as he's sharing time with Jeff King and Gary Barnidge at tight end. LB Jon Beason (knee, probable) is also active.

11:44 a.m. ET -- Steve Smith active for Panthers -- The Rock Hill Herald reports that Steve Smith (knee, probable) is active for the Panthers. He's a must-start accounting for the matchup.

11:42 a.m. ET -- Justin Durant inactive -- The Jaguars' official Web site reports that LB Justin Durant (hip, questionable) is inactive. Mike Thomas (ribs, probable) is active, though he's not worth a look since Mike Sims-Walker is active and expected back in the starting lineup. Activate Sims-Walker in all formats.

11:41 a.m. ET -- Devin Thomas to start -- The Redskins' official Web site reports that Devin Thomas is expected to start at wide receiver, replacing Malcolm Kelly in the lineup. This isn't any huge fantasy-related news, but the matchup on paper is favorable, meaning Thomas at least bears watching given an expanded opportunity.

11:39 a.m. ET -- Carson Palmer active -- The Bengals' official Web site reports that Carson Palmer (left thumb, probable) is active and will start. He's a fine fantasy option facing the Texans. In other Bengals news, both S Roy L. Williams (forearm, questionable) and S Chinedum Ndukwe (hamstring, probable) are active for the defense.

11:37 a.m. ET -- Boller active, Martin inactive -- The Rams' official Web site reports that Kyle Boller (concussion, probable) is active, though Ruvell Martin (hamstring, doubtful) is inactive. Boller's active status is irrelevant; Marc Bulger is expected to start, not that you should eagerly want Rams quarterbacks even facing the Jaguars. Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton, the Rams' starting receivers, are the ones more attractive facing this matchup, though really only Avery warrants a play as a No. 3/4 type.

11:34 a.m. ET -- Albert, Page inactive for Chiefs -- ESPN's John Clayton reports that both T Branden Albert (ankle, questionable) and S Jarrad Page (shoulder, questionable) are inactive for the Chiefs. This is a bit of a hit to Matt Cassel's fantasy value, being that Wade Smith will likely be protecting his blind side.

11:33 a.m. ET -- Samuels, Rinehart inactive -- The Redskins' official Web site reports that both T Chris Samuels (neck, out) and G Chad Rinehart (shoulder, questionable) are inactive. This is a huge hit to Chris Cooley's fantasy value, though it was expected; Cooley will need to stay back to block more this week, as he did in Week 5. In other Redskins news, DT Albert Haynesworth (ankle, probable) is active.

11:32 a.m. ET -- Clinton Portis active -- The Redskins' official Web site reports that Clinton Portis (calf, probable) is active, as expected. He's a fine fantasy play being that the team might not be able to pass as effectively with some injuries on the offensive line this week.

11:31 a.m. ET -- Boley, Ross inactive -- The Giants' official Web site reports that both LB Michael Boley (knee, out) and CB Aaron Ross (hamstring, out) are inactive. Just news for owners in IDP leagues.

11:30 a.m. ET -- Bradshaw, Boss active -- The Giants' official Web site reports that both Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle, probable) and Kevin Boss (ankle, probable) are active. Danny Ware (elbow, probable), meanwhile, is inactive. Bradshaw is an acceptable flex play, though it's not an elite matchup like last week's. Boss shouldn't be used; he'll probably take on mostly a blocking role this week.

11:28 a.m. ET -- Eli Manning active -- The Giants' official Web site reports that Eli Manning (foot, probable) is active, as expected. He doesn't have the greatest of fantasy matchups, however, so while he's fine to use, don't expect huge numbers.

11:10 a.m. ET -- Stafford, Megatron likely out -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that both Calvin Johnson (knee, questionable) and Matthew Stafford (knee, questionable) are expected to be inactive for the Lions. Dennis Northcutt will likely draw the start in Johnson's place, Daunte Culpepper for Stafford, though neither is a great fantasy play facing the Packers.
