Updates/analysis (most recent first)

Kevin Ogletree active (7:16 p.m. ET): Dan Graziano of ESPN's NFC East blog reports that WR Kevin Ogletree (hamstring, questionable) is active for the Dallas Cowboys. Ogletree hasn't done much to earn fantasy owners' trust in recent weeks, and his questionable status didn't help.

Dez Bryant active (7:15 p.m. ET): Dan Graziano of ESPN's NFC East blog reports that WR Dez Bryant (hip, questionable) is active for the Dallas Cowboys. Bryant, who suffered a setback during Friday's practice, was reportedly fine during pre-game warmups, which should ease the minds of those who waited this late in the day to use him. You've been rewarded; our No. 20 wideout for Week 9 indeed is playing.

Felix Jones active (7:15 p.m. ET): Dan Graziano of ESPN's NFC East blog reports that RB Felix Jones (knee, probable) is active for the Dallas Cowboys. It's unclear whether Jones will still get the lion's share of the carries, what with his lackluster performance the past couple of weeks, but he's still good enough to use as a flex option. He's our No. 24 running back for Week 9.

Matt Bryant active (7:03 p.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that K Matt Bryant (back, probable) is active. Bryant is our No. 2 kicker for Week 9.

Roddy White active (7:03 p.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that WR Roddy White (back, probable) is active. White has a somewhat more challening matchup this week against a Cowboys defense allowing the seventh-fewest fantasy points per games to opposing wide receivers, but few are as involved as him in the passing game, regardless of matchup. He's our No. 12 wideout for the week, and therefore a solid WR2 at least.

Isaac Redman active (3:00 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that RB Isaac Redman (ankle, probable) is active for the Pittsburgh Steelers. With both Jonathan Dwyer and Rashard Mendenhall inactive, Redman will get the bulk of the carries, and be backed up by Baron Batch and Chris Rainey. We ranked Redman our No. 25 running back for Week 9, mainly a "role" ranking, as he's not as explosive a fantasy performer as the men he's replacing.

Rashard Mendenhall inactive (3:00 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that RB Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles', doubtful) is inactive for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both he and Jonathan Dwyer were listed as doubtful, and it was pretty obvious neither was going to play. Isaac Redman is the Steelers running back to get for Week 9.

Jonathan Dwyer inactive (3:00 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that RB Jonathan Dwyer (quadriceps, doubtful) is inactive for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After impressing on a fill-in basis, Dwyer returns to the sidelines this week due to injury. He remains a useful stash in larger leagues, but for now, add Isaac Redman if you need a fill-in from the Steelers' backfield.

Ryan Clark active (3:00 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that S Ryan Clark (concussion, probable) is active for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Clark is Jim McCormick's No. 18 defensive back for Week 9.

Ahmad Bradshaw active (2:54 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot, questionable) is active for the New York Giants. He continues to press through his foot issues, though he's coming off a 5-point Week 8 and is facing an even tougher matchup this week. Bradshaw is our No. 13 running back for the week, which is about right; he's an RB2.

Victor Cruz active (2:54 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that WR Victor Cruz (calf, probable) is active for the New York Giants. Cruz is as valuable a wide receiver as you'll find in fantasy, our No. 5 option for Week 9.

Michael Bennett active (2:41 p.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that DE Michael Bennett (ankle, probable) is active for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bennett is Jim McCormick's No. 18 defensive lineman for Week 9.

Matt Shaughnessy active (2:40 p.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that DE Matt Shaughnessy (shoulder, probable) is active for the Oakland Raiders. Shaughnessy is Jim McCormick's No. 15 defensive lineman for Week 9.

Mike Goodson active (2:40 p.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that RB Mike Goodson (toe, probable) is active for the Oakland Raiders. Goodson will occupy his traditional little-used backup role, making him scarcely a fantasy option. We ranked him 46th among running backs.

Sebastian Janikowski active (2:40 p.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that K Sebastian Janikowski (left groin, probable) is active for the Oakland Raiders. Janikowski continues to be listed on the weekly injury report, but he's never any risk to sit, what with the Raiders lacking an alternative on their roster. He's our No. 3 kicker for Week 9.

Darren McFadden active (2:40 p.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that RB Darren McFadden (shoulder, probable) is active for the Oakland Raiders. McFadden is in the midst of a disappointing season and he's facing a decent Buccaneers run defense. He's our No. 11 running back for Week 9.

Marshawn Lynch active (2:38 p.m. ET): Mike Sando of ESPN's NFC West Blog reports that RB Marshawn Lynch (back, probable) is active for the Seattle Seahawks. Yes, Lynch has a difficult matchup, and the better way for teams to attack the Vikings' defense is through the air, not on the ground. But Lynch is integral to the Seahawks' plan of attack; he'll get his usual healthy number of carries and has succeeded despite challenges before. He's our No. 6 running back for Week 9.

Percy Harvin active (2:36 p.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that WR Percy Harvin (hamstring, probable) is active. Harvin's total touches result in a healthy enough number that despite his challenging matchup, he should be fine to start in all formats. We ranked him our No. 7 wideout, only that low because the Seahawks aren't generous in terms of yardage allowed.

Christian Ponder active (2:36 p.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that QB Christian Ponder (knee, probable) is active. Ponder has his work cut out for him this week, and his matchup against the Seahawks is dreadful. We ranked him 21st among quarterbacks accordingly.

Antoine Winfield active (2:36 p.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that CB Antoine Winfield (knee, probable) is active. Winfield is Jim McCormick's No. 14 defensive back for Week 9.

Adrian Peterson active (2:36 p.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, probable) is active. Peterson's matchup might be awful, but he has overcome so many challenges already this year -- most obviously his swift, effective return from knee surgery -- that we hardly sweat the matchups with him. He's our No. 7 running back for Week 9, meaning he's a clear RB1 in all formats.

Aldrick Robinson to start (12:06 p.m. ET): ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that WR Aldrick Robinson will start for the Washington Redskins. Robinson gets the nod over Leonard Hankerson, if you're seeking the stronger wide receiver option from the Redskins for Week 9.

Terrell Suggs active (12:04 p.m. ET): The Baltimore Ravens' official Twitter feed reports that LB Terrell Suggs (ankle, probable) is active. Suggs is Jim McCormick's No. 26 linebacker for Week 9.

Owen Daniels active (12:01 p.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that TE Owen Daniels (hamstring, probable) is active. There wasn't any real worry he'd sit our Week 9, and we ranked Daniels our No. 5 tight end for the week facing the awful Bills defense.

Trent Richardson active (11:59 a.m. ET): The Cleveland Browns' official Twitter feed reports that RB Trent Richardson (chest, probable) is active. Richardson is our No. 8 running back for the week, despite the perception of a tough matchup against the Ravens' D. But we'll point out: Injuries have ravaged that defense, and the Ravens have afforded 81 fantasy points combined to opposing running backs in their past three games combined.

Brandon Weeden active (11:59 a.m. ET): The Cleveland Browns' official Twitter feed reports that QB Brandon Weeden (groin, probable) is active. Weeden is our No. 21 quarterback for the week.

T.J. Ward active (11:59 a.m. ET): The Cleveland Browns' official Twitter feed reports that S T.J. Ward (hand, probable) is active. Ward is Jim McCormick's No. 22 defensive back for Week 9, making him a lower-end starter in IDP formats.

Brian Leonard active (11:56 a.m. ET): The Cincinnati Bengals' official Twitter feed reports that RB Brian Leonard (ribs, probable) is active. He'll recapture the third-down role behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis, but that's a role with limited fantasy appeal, even in PPR formats. We have Leonard ranked 50th among running backs.

Kenny Britt active (11:52 a.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that WR Kenny Britt (knee, probable) is active. He put in a full practice week, so there was never any worry he'd sit. That said, his matchup is a worry; he's facing the Bears. It's why we ranked him our No. 38 wideout for Week 9.

Nate Washington active (11:52 a.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that WR Nate Washington (knee, probable) is active. Washington is our No. 42 wide receiver for Week 9, as his matchup against the Bears is poor. After a full practice week, however, he shouldn't be an injury worry.

Kamerion Wimbley active (11:52 a.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that DE Kamerion Wimbley (toe, probable) is active. Wimbley is Jim McCormick's No. 17 defensive lineman for Week 9.

Brian Hartline active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Miami Dolphins' official Twitter feed reports that WR Brian Hartline (groin, questionable) is active. He'll start, though he could play a more limited number of snaps accounting for his injury. We ranked Hartline our No. 36 wideout for Week 9; he's a WR4/flex type, meaning fill-in status.

Brandon Pettigrew active (11:48 a.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee, probable) is active. Pettigrew might see a few additional targets if Calvin Johnson plays more limited snaps. We ranked Pettigrew our No. 8 tight end for Week 9.

Cliff Avril active (11:48 a.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that DE Cliff Avril (back, probable) is active. Avril is Jim McCormick's No. 11 linebacker for Week 9.

Titus Young active (11:47 a.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that WR Titus Young (knee, probable) is active. With Calvin Johnson perhaps limited, Young might take on a larger role in the passing game. Young's fantasy value remains tied to volume of stats -- targets/catches -- and this plays into that; simply don't count on multiple TDs every week. But a matchup against the Jaguars is a favorable one, and it might make our No. 31 ranking of him too conservative. I'd call him a WR3 for sure.

Ryan Tannehill active (11:45 a.m. ET): The Miami Dolphins' official Twitter feed reports that QB Ryan Tannehill (knee, questionable) is active. It's unclear whether Tannehill will be able to finish the contest, however, so don't be shocked to see more of Matt Moore this week. Tannehill is our No. 24 quarterback, but remember, there are only 26 starting quarterbacks remaining with games in Week 9.

Jermichael Finley active (11:44 a.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that TE Jermichael Finley (shoulder, probable) is active. Jordy Nelson's active status -- ESPN's Adam Schefter also reports that Nelson will start -- is a negative for Finley's fantasy appeal in Week 9. It cuts into his targets, making him more of a desperation/fill-in type. We ranked Finley our No. 15 tight end for the week.

Aaron Rodgers active (11:44 a.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that QB Aaron Rodgers (calf, probable) is active. Rodgers is a weekly no-brainer, and having a healthy Jordy Nelson back in the lineup is a plus. Rodgers is our No. 2 quarterback for Week 9.

Andrew Luck active (11:42 a.m. ET): Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Colts reports that QB Andrew Luck (knee, probable) is active for the Indianapolis Colts. Luck will be tasked with throwing often against the Dolphins, whose defensive weakness is against the pass, especially in a game where Donald Brown might be limited. We ranked Luck our No. 11 quarterback for the week.

Donald Brown active (11:42 a.m. ET): Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Colts reports that RB Donald Brown (knee, probable) is active for the Indianapolis Colts. Chappell reports, however, that Vick Ballard will start, meaning Brown's injury could keep him in a little-used backup role. It's possible the two will split carries, but this clouds an already cloudy fantasy picture. Try to avoid both if possible.

Haloti Ngata active (11:37 a.m. ET): The Baltimore Ravens' official Twitter feed reports that DT Haloti Ngata (shoulder, questionable) is active. Ngata's injury plus so-so recent production are responsible for his No. 29 ranking among defensive linemen this week. He's a lower-end starter in IDP formats.

Bernard Pollard active (11:37 a.m. ET): The Baltimore Ravens' official Twitter feed reports that S Bernard Pollard (chest, probable) is active. Pollard is Jim McCormick's No. 9 defensive back for the week, making him a solid starter in all IDP leagues.

Calvin Johnson active (11:35 a.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that WR Calvin Johnson (knee, questionable) is active. There have been reports out there this weekend that Johnson might be limited to only third downs, and a decreased snap count is possible. Couple that with his lackluster recent production and fantasy owners have legitimate reason to temper their expectations. He's still our No. 6 wideout this week -- I'd personally call him more of a WR2 at this point -- being that his matchup against the Jaguars is outstanding, and it's possible that if he catches a groove during the game, he might play more snaps than anticipated.

Jordy Nelson active (11:33 a.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Jordy Nelson (hamstring, questionable) is active. Nelson's status was a true game-time decision, and we conservatively ranked him our No. 29 wide receiver accounting for that risk. Nelson's matchup isn't a great one, so regard him more WR2/3 option than a true starter across the board.

Brandon LaFell inactive (11:31 a.m. ET): The Carolina Panthers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Brandon LaFell (head, doubtful) is inactive. With LaFell out, Louis Murphy will get the start. Murphy is a mere desperation play based upon the strength of his matchup against the Redskins. Expect Steve Smith and Greg Olsen to be the most heavily targeted for the Panthers.

London Fletcher active (11:30 a.m. ET): ESPN Radio 980 in Washington, D.C. reports that LB London Fletcher (hamstring, probable) is active for the Washington Redskins. Fletcher's injury presented more of a worry in Week 8 than it does in Week 9, and he's an obvious start in IDP formats, earning Jim McCormick's No. 10 rating among linebackers for the week.
