RULES: CUSTOM LEAGUE RULES
The League Manager (LM) determines the league's player pool. The options are:
- All NHL Players -- Default setting
- Eastern Conference Players Only
- Western Conference Players Only
SEASON START DATE
The only option for Fantasy Hockey 2010 is the first day of the season - Thursday, October 1, 2009. Any leagues which draft after this date will have their player stats retroactively processed based on the drafted starting lineup. Note this fixed season start date corresponds with the first games of the 2009-10 NHL season.
The undroppable list comprises players who cannot be dropped to waivers at any time during the season. ESPN introduced this feature to prevent collusion (in these cases, owners would drop star players, allowing those first on the waiver wire to pick them up). League Managers can choose if they want to allow owners to be capable of dropping all players or be prevented from dropping designated players. This setting can be changed by the LM at any time during the season.
MAKE LEAGUE VIEWABLE TO PUBLIC
If 'Yes' is selected your league will be set as 'Public' and members can send league URLs/pages out in email (or posted on message board) to have non-members view them. Note in public leagues some pages (such as the list of team owners and league message boards) are not viewable, but the main League Office, Standings, Box Scores and Team clubhouse pages are viewable. If 'No' is selected the league is set as 'Private' and every page (except League Settings) in your league will not be viewable by anyone other than team owners. This setting can changed at any time during the season.
LINEUP LOCK TIMES
The LM decides if they want your league to use DAILY or WEEKLY lineup changes. The default setting is daily where each roster slot locks at the individual gametimes. If weekly is selected team owners must have their lineups set before the first game of the week begins (Monday-Sunday). These settings can only be edited before your draft begins.
USE KEEPER FOR THE 2009-10 SEASON
The LM decides if they want your league to use Keepers for this year's draft. If 'Yes' is selected 2008-09 Keeper players can be drafted by adding them to team rosters before the draft begins. This can be done via the 'Edit Rosters' tool found on the 'LM Tools' page. When the draft begins the number of keepers set per team will automatically be drafted. This editing can be changed until one hour before your draft.
USE KEEPER FOR THE 2011 SEASON
The LM decides if they want your league to use Keepers for next year's draft. If 'Yes' is selected at the end of the season each team can select their players to be kept for the 2010-11 season. This setting can be change at any time during the season.
