Finally time for Moore's first win?
Still, duty calls. The Frys.com Open field actually isn't half-bad, with three-time winner Jim Furyk serving as the headliner. Notables include Fred Couples, John Daly and a few members of that powerhouse U.S. Ryder Cup squad, which is why I'm picking Ryan Moore to nab his first pro victory at the TPC at Summerlin. The American revolution is upon us, and Moore should be a key part of it.
We've waited the better part of 10 years for at least a scaled-down version of the next Tiger Woods, and Moore quietly has begun taking the proper steps. Back-to-back T-6 finishes at 84 Lumber and Greensboro have moved him to 72nd on the money list. He attended UNLV and is familiar with the host venue, which helps at tournaments where 20 under par only gets you through Saturday afternoon.
Despite missing almost two months with a broken bone in his left hand, Moore's first full season on tour has been a success. A victory would provide an exclamation point. You know who else got his first pro win in Vegas, don't you?
