Ryder Cup will be profitable event

The Ryder Cup Matches at Oakland Hills will generate about $70 million in revenue for the PGA of America, up $5 million from the 1999 Ryder Cup at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. By comparison, the Masters generates about $44 million in revenue and the U.S. Open $50 million. After expenses, the PGA of America will earn more than $20 million in profit from the Ryder Cup.
