| Adam Scott | News: Scott struggled at the Players Championship, shooting a final-round 80 to finish tied for 54th. He'll take two weeks off before playing in the Memorial, USA Today reports. Notes: Just when it looked like Scott might be poised to make some noise at a top tournament, after a win and a top-ten finish in his prior two events, he again wasn't a factor on Sunday. |

| Cameron Beckman | News: Beckman, apparently still in the throes of back problems, withdrew from the AT&T Classic on Tuesday. Notes: Beckman's replacement is Guy Boros who has been somewhat active on the European Tour. He has minimal fantasy value here. |
| Paul Goydos | News: Goydos is in the field for this week's AT&T Classic. Notes: He's missed the cut five times in his last seven stops here, and his last decent check at the event came in 1994. Even with last week's outstanding TPC showing fresh in our minds, we're not expecting Goydos to surprise again here. |

| Tiger Woods | News: Woods (knee) has been limited to to chipping and putting, but hopes to play in the Memorial in two weeks, the Associated Press reports. "The rehab is going well," Woods said. "I'll you what, I'm getting sick and tired of riding the bike." Notes: It still seems unlikely he'll play in two weeks since he's not even back out on the course. A return the U.S. Open seems more realistic. |
| Jeff Maggert | News: Maggert withdrew from the AT&T Classic. Maggert's brother was killed in a small plane accident last Thursday; Maggert is with his family. Notes: Maggert, long a good player on difficult tracks, had opened at The Players with even-par 72 before getting the news. His return is probably somewhat unpredictable; he's a good consistent player that fits well in most fantasy formats. |
| Steve Lowery | News: Lowery and Daisuke Maruyama withdrew from the field of the AT&T Classic on Monday. Notes: Lowery is replaced by Ronnie Black; Maruyama is replaced by Len Mattiace. Both replacements placed at the Mayakoba Golf Classic - Mattiace tied for 56th and Maruyama was 39th. Fantasy value for both is very low. |
| Tommy Armour III | News: Armour III and Alejandro Canizares withdrew from the AT&T Classic. Notes: Armour was replced by Bob Burns; Canizares' replacement is Jim Gallagher, Jr. who had a T-24 at the 1998 TPC Sugarloaf event. |
| Jesper Parnevik | News: Parnevik was added to the field of the AT&T Classic early on Monday only to withdraw later in the day. Notes: Parnevik is probably worn out after playing six consecutive weeks with the last one the wind-blown The Players; Parnevik was even par through three rounds then he created a final round 85. Exhaustion was probably his undoing. |
| Esteban Toledo | News: Toledo has been added to the field of the AT&T Classic. Notes: Good Samaritan Toledo, returning to the U.S. from the Nationwide Tour event in Panama, rescued a California motorist trapped in an automobile as a result of an accident; that's his most significant accomplishment with some connection to golf. Choose from many others at the AT&T. |
| Dan Forsman | News: Forsman has been added to the field at the AT&T Classic. Notes: Forsman's best in four tries is tieing for 61st at the Puerto Rico Open, a concurrent PGA Tour event with the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February. Better choices abound this week. |
| Scott Dunlap | News: Dunlap, who won the Nationwide Tour's season opener in Panama, has been added to the field at the AT&T Classic. Notes: Dunlap's appearances on the PGA Tour go back a ways He's trying to re-establish himself on the Tour and these events, with the most of the big dogs absent, offer the opportunities. Fantasy-wise, he's a gamble. |
| Matt Kuchar | News: Kuchar is in the field for this week's for this week's AT&T Classic. Notes: Kuchar had been on a nice little run until a pretty rough outing at The PLAYERS where he put up a 78 on the first day. We'd say start him this week, though, as this is a pretty pathetic field and an OK player like Kuchar can probably win you some cash. Note that Kuchar also came in a tie for third here last year. |
| May 11, 2008 | |
| Greg Norman | News: Norman is listed in the field of the upcoming ATandT Classic. Notes: Norman is probably getting a tune-up prior to the Champions Tour upcoming Senior PGA Championship later in May. Norman flashes some of his past magic form time-to-time. |
| Ernie Els | News: Els, one-over for the week, tied for sixth at The Players. Notes: Els won the Honda Classic in March but not much else has come his way; this finish, on a difficult course under high wind conditions, may indicate things are looking up for Els. Watch for him in any preparatory event prior to the U. S. Open to validate this week's fine results. |
| Stephen Ames | News: Ames, even par for the week, finished fifth at The Players. Notes: Ames won The Players in 2006. His most recent PGA Tour win was late in 2007 at the Children's Miracle Network Classic. However, Ames generally does very well in tough tracks populated by a strong field. He has shown weakness in weak Sunday results. Use him in the U. S. Open in the middle or near the end of your roster. |
| Briny Baird | News: Baird, at minus-one, finished fourth at The Players. Baird had only one round over par for the week. Notes: Baird is busy; in 14 starts with only two cuts, he's over a million dollars in earnings and 36th on the FedEx point list. Baird is 11th in greens-in-regulation - stronger putting results would pull him up higher on the leaderboards. He's a reliable pick for your middle roster slots. |
| Sergio Garcia | News: Garcia won The Players over Paul Goydos on the first extra hole. Goydos' tee shot at the TPC Sawgrass- Stadium course island hole (#17) found the water while Garcia's tee shot came to rest about three-feet away from the pin. Garcia two-putted for win - Goydos made double bogey. Notes: On the week, Garcia finished first in both fairways-hit, and greens-in-regulation. His putting continued to be erratic until late in the final round. While this isn't yet considered a "major", it was a "major" in quality of field and quality of course. It will be interesting to watch Garcia in the upcoming established majors. |
