ORLANDO, Fla. -- Bernhard Langer and 13-year-old son Stefan shot an 11-under 61 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Father-Son Challenge.

Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus III were tied for second with Hale and Steve Irwin in the two-day, scramble event at ChampionsGate Golf Resort.

"We didn't expect to be in the lead," Bernhard Langer said. "It will be an awesome experience for Stefan to play with Jack tomorrow. How many chances will he have to do that?"

Mark and Shaun O'Meara and Larry and Josh Nelson opened with 63s, and Tom and David Kite had a 64. Arnold Palmer and grandson Sam Saunders were four strokes back after a 65.
