Need To Know Spyglass Hill Golf Course
Spyglass Hill Road and Stevenson Drive
Pebble Beach, CA 93953
Opened in 1965, Spyglass was built for a total cost of $489,000. Its first five holes run along the shoreland dunes, and then Spyglass changes its personality on the sixth, which slants back into the woods.
One of the courses used for the AT&T National Pro-Am since 1967, Spyglass is quite possibly the hardest.
Jack Nicklaus once collected a $500 bet from Bing Crosby by shooting a 71, one under par, from the back tees on his first practice round at Spyglass in 1967. In the tournament round, however, Nicklaus had a 74.
