Soon after the course opened, Sandpines was named Golf Digest's Best New Public Course for 1993. And after playing the course just once, golfers will understand the club's motto: "Golf on the Oregon Dunes."

Situated along the state's coastline, architect Rees Jones built a series of holes that could easily be mistaken for Spyglass Hill; the par-5 7th among them. The hole plays alongside gigantic dunes that dwarf the fairway. In fact, Jones brought the dune element to the forefront of the game from tee to green on many of the holes here.

Challenging yet generous, this course offers beginners and experienced golfers alike a chance to test their skills and indulge their senses.
