Ranked 55th in the country by Golf Digest, the River Course at Blackwolf Run is true to its name -- the water is virtually everywhere.

The wet stuff is just one reason why the River Course is a commanding layout that offers a dynamic golf challenge. It also features sweeping panoramic views of the Sheboygan River valley. A glacier served as early landscape architect for this site, sculpting river valleys with deep ravines, meadow plains, gentle rolling hills and abundant lakes.

Although it was Se Ri Pak who became a household name here with her stirring playoff win in the 1998 U.S. Women's Open, the line of the tournament may have been uttered by Hollis Stacy. After a deer walked across the 17th green during the third round, causing play to be delayed for 15 minutes while workers repaired the green, Stacy said, "Obviously he wasn't wearing spikeless shoes!"
