Oklahoma State 's men's golf coach Mike Holder convinced Tom Fazio to design one of the most challenging golf courses in the country. And when Karsten Creek opened in May 1994, it didn't disappoint-earning "Best New Course" honors from Golf Digest for that year.

The zoysia fairways are cut from a forest of oaks, complemented by terrain that is unusually undulating for Oklahoma. Lake Louise comes into play on many of the holes.

No. 16 is one of them. A solid par 4 that gives the player its first glimpse of the 100-acre lake located behind the green. This hole is a slight dogleg right with a very large green protected by bunkers.
