Rio Mar is a 36-hole public facility on the northeast coast of Puerto Rico, some 15 miles east of San Juan. George and Tom Fazio collaborated on the design of the first course-the Ocean-that opened in 1978 and offers much along its 6,782 yards.

The signature 16th hole, an oceanside par 3 that measures 238 yards, rates among the Caribbean's finest one-shotters. And for golfers who enjoy playing to an audience, the fourth is home to hundreds of iguana lizards, some as long as five feet.
