Prior to the course being built, the property was the site of equestrian events during the 1984 summer Olympics. Still standing and preserved in memory of the Olympics are some of the dramatic equestrian jumps as well as "Victory's Gate," a bronze sculpture of a horse making a jump, that stands at the Club's entrance.

The Ted Robinson designed course features water on several holes, including the stunning 422-yard 18th hole that is made even more dramatic by the hot-air balloons that regularly fly over the course.
