Hazeltine out as 2012 BMW host
According to the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press, Hazeltine National GC is out as a site for the 2012 BMW Championship.
Club officials, mindful of the Chaska, Minn., course's commitments to the 2009 PGA Championship and the 2016 Ryder Cup, asked out of the rotation of Midwestern cities hosting the PGA Tour event formerly known as the Western Open.
The championship's new format will have the event played in Chicago in odd numbered years, with Bellerive CC in St. Louis slated to host in 2008 and Crooked Stick GC near Indianapolis on board for 2010. The report speculated that Windsong Farm GC in Independence, Minn., could become the Twin Cities' frontrunner for the Hazeltine slot.
