HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Jason Day, a 19-year-old from Australia, became the youngest winner in Nationwide Tour history Sunday when he closed with a 4-under 67 for a one-shot victory in the Legend Financial Group Classic.

Day finished with a tournament record 268 at StoneWater Golf Club, while Scott Gardiner of Australia also shot 67 to finish second.

"I've worked so hard for this, so it great to come out with the win," Day said. "It was a goal of mine to win on the Nationwide Tour during my first season, so to accomplish that is nice."

The youngest Nationwide Tour champion had been James Oh, who was 21 when he won the 2003 Mark Christopher Charity Classic.
