Tiger Woods isn't taking part in The Barclays, but 73 of the world's top 100 players are in this week's field, including Vijay Singh, Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia, each of whom owns multiple victories at Westchester CC.

Who will get an early leg up in the PGA Tour's first playoff event? Our experts make their predictions.

Horse for the Course
Singh
Singh
Vijay Singh has won the tournament three times, including last year, and can move into first place in the FedEx Cup standings because Tiger Woods is taking the week off.
Singh
Singh
Vijay Singh won at Westchester last year. And in 1995. And in '93, when he claimed his first career title in the U.S. Chances are, he'll be around the lead come Sunday.
Garcia
Garcia
Sergio Garcia has won twice at Westchester CC, and since this isn't a major, he might be able to close the deal.
Els
Els
Ernie Els is a two-time winner at Westchester, but the Big Easy hasn't played here since 2004 and hasn't had a top-10 at this event since 2000. He should have a fine week in the New York City suburbs.
Birdie Buster
Els
Els
Ernie Els has won at Westchester twice. He begins the playoffs in 19th place.
Snedeker
Snedeker
He's coming off his first career PGA Tour victory and ranks second in total birdies, so expect Brandt Snedeker to put a few red numbers on the board.
Harrington
Harrington
Padraig Harrington owns a first and a second at Westchester CC. And the rowdy New York crowds won't bother him a bit.
Garcia
Garcia
Sergio Garcia is another superstar with a solid record at The Barclays. The Spaniard has two firsts, a third and a fourth in this tournament.
Super Sleeper
Maruyama
Maruyama
Shigeki Maruyama jumped into the playoffs by finishing tied for seventh in Greensboro. At 140th, he'll need another high finish to move into the top 120 and advance to the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Gove
Gove
It doesn't get much "sleepier" than Jeff Gove, who snuck into this week's field as the 144th-ranked player.
Mickelson
Mickelson
How can Phil Mickelson be a sleeper? Lefty hasn't finished higher than T-32 since winning the Players May 13. New York-area galleries inspire him.
Henry
Henry
What's this? There are no sleepers in playoffs. At least there shouldn't be. OK, I'll give you one. How about J.J. Henry, product of nearby Fairfield, Conn., who is coming off four straight subpar rounds at the Wyndham Championship.
Winner
Scott
Scott
The runner-up to Vijay Singh last year at The Barclays, Adam Scott gets his second win of the year and jumps into serious contention for the overall FedEx Cup title.
Els
Els
The pick to win is Tiger Woods, who -- what's that? He's not playing? That should give Ernie Els reason to breathe easier en route to the win.
Singh
Singh
Vijay Singh likes the course, and he likes winning $10 million. The FedEx Cup prize will get his attention.
Harrington
Harrington
Well it certainly won't be Tiger Woods. Let's go with Padraig Harrington, who won at Westchester in 2005 after finishing T-2 a year earlier.
