Who will win the Wachovia Championship?
The PGA Tour travels to Charlotte, N.C., this week for the Wachovia Championship. This year's field is devoid of last year's champion -- Tiger Woods -- leaving the door open for the rest of the players.

| Horse for the Course | The 2006 winner at Quail Hollow, Jim Furyk also finished second in 2005. He typically plays tough courses well and is coming off a tie for fourth at the Verizon Heritage.
| With a win and a T-2 in four career starts at Quail Hollow, Jim Furyk has proved it's not just a course for big bombers. He might be due for his annual victory march.
| With four top-10s at Quail Hollow, including the win in 2005, Vijay Singh is as close as it gets to a sure bet at the Wachovia.

| Birdie Buster | Vijay Singh has played in all five Wachovias, finishing outside the top 10 just once and posting a victory in 2005. | Yes, I know Stewart Cink is only 1-for-9 when holding the 54-hole lead and I'm still shocked he owns only one career PGA Tour victory, but with five top-10s in nine starts this season, he's almost got to win another one by accident at some point, right?
| Andres Romero is capable of making birdies in bunches on tough courses and now has a PGA Tour victory on his resume. That confidence could lead to another solid week. |
|
| Super Sleeper | Anthony Kim is close to breaking through for his first PGA Tour victory, and the 22-year-old tied for fifth at the Wachovia last year. | His only win so far on the PGA Tour came in North Carolina (at Greensboro) last year, and here's guessing Brandt Snedeker still will have a little mojo in the Tar Heel State. If he can wipe all those tears away and put his final-round Masters performance behind him, expect Snedeker to continue playing solid golf.
| The Wachovia has a quality field and usually crowns a deserving champ, but if you're looking for a surprise, consider Nick Watney. He never has finished outside the top 25 at Quail Hollow.

|
| Winner | This is the tournament where Rory Sabbatini first called out Tiger Woods last year. Without Woods in the field to defend his title, Rory will go on to victory.
| The most exciting player on the PGA Tour -- not the best or most consistent, mind you -- may very well be Andres Romero. He cannot only go ultra-low, but he also has the potential to make eagle or triple-bogey on any hole. I say he will post more of the former than the latter this week. | Jim Furyk missed the cut a year ago, but he won the event in 2006 and was T-2 the year before. |
