K.J. Choi. The defending champion of the second-year event looked right at home at Congressional Country Club, where he shot a final-round 68 to hold off Steve Stricker by three strokes.

Steve Stricker finished in second place at Congressional a year ago and could use a strong week to help his Ryder Cup cause.
Jim Furyk had a top-10 at the AT&T National last year, plus his caddie, Fluff Cowan, is a member.
K.J. Choi. Only guy to win this tournament on this course. There is no one else with a track record.

Davis Love III. He's shown flashes of good play recently and is coming off the high of having qualified for the British Open -- after doing the same at the U.S. Open.
After three straight missed cuts, Charles Howell III shot a final-round 67 at Warwick Hills to finish T-17 last week.
Believe it or not, Ryuji Imada is the only player in the top 10 on the money list in the field at Congressional.

Steve Stricker. He has struggled for a good part of his year, but Stricker started to get hot around this time a year ago, finishing second at Congressional before going on to a monster finish. Perhaps the good vibes help.

A native of Virginia, John Rollins showed signs of having his game come around at the Buick Open, with two rounds of 65 or better.
Jeff Overton hasn't done much on tour this year, but he's riding momentum after winning a British Open qualifier Monday in Michigan with rounds of 63 and 70.
Fred Funk. At 52, the Maryland native would become the second-oldest tour winner, 10 months shy of Sam Snead's mark.

Stuart Appleby. He faltered in the final round last year with a 76 that relegated him to a tie for third, but he bounces back in 2008 to get his first win in more than two years.
History says great players usually triumph on great courses, and Congressional is no different. Davis Love III may not be great anymore, but he's not too far removed from such status, either.
Stuart Appleby was the third-round leader at this event last year, and he held the second-round lead at the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. Sooner or later, he's going to keep a lead and win one.
Steve Stricker. He played well in the U.S. Open after missing the cut in five of his previous six events and is ready to right the ship.
