Lam Zhiqun leads Asian Amateur
TOKYO -- Lam Zhiqun of Singapore shot a 66 on Friday to grab a one-shot lead in the Asian Amateur Championship at the Kasumigaseki Country Club in Japan.
Lam, 21, leads Yosuke Asaji of Japan by one shot and is 7 under through 36 holes. Asaji led after the first round of the event, which awards its winner a berth in the 2011 Masters.
Hideki Matsuyama of Japan and Lee Kyung-hoon of Korea are two shots behind the leader. A total of 64 players survived the cut.
Aside from a berth at Augusta National, the winner and runner-up get spots in the International Final Qualifying for The Open Championship in 2011.
