Report: LPGA event for charity
The LPGA will open its season with an event where players will donate their winnings to charity, according to a report Wednesday by GolfWeek.
Citing sources, GolfWeek reported that the inaugural Founders Cup will be played March 18-20 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge course in Phoenix to open the domestic part of the LPGA schedule. Players will receive credit for money earned and points, but will give their earnings to charity, sources told GolfWeek.
The LPGA schedule is set to be released Thursday. It will open in Asia with two limited-field events.
