Should Lehman be a playing captain?

8/14/2006 - Golf

He almost did it. Had Tom Lehman defeated Dean Wilson in Sunday's playoff at The International, he would have risen to seventh place in the U.S. Ryder Cup points standings, likely earning the captain a roster spot on his own team.

Instead, Lehman lost on the second playoff hole and climbed to only 19th place on the list. With the PGA Championship upcoming, he still has one more shot to earn enough points to become the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer in 1963. But even if he qualifies, should Lehman compete on the team? Bob Harig and Jason Sobel debate that issue in this week's edition of Alternate Shot.
