Poulter leaves after 15 holes of second round

SAN DIEGO -- Ian Poulter withdrew from the U.S. Open on Friday with an undisclosed injury.

He had played 15 holes of his second round. He was 7-over for the day 14-over for the tournament.

Poulter birdied the 10th hole of his day, but made a bogey and three double bogeys before leaving after 15 holes.

He is the second player to withdraw in the middle of a round, joining Mark Calcavecchia, who withdrew on Thursday. Brett Wetterich withdrew before the start of play Thursday.
