Admirer bares all for Furyk
Associated Press
OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. -- A topless woman attempted to hand
Jim Furyk a pair of roses near the 11th green Sunday, disrupting
the final round of the U.S. Open briefly before being arrested by
authorities.
The woman, whose name was not immediately available, approached
Furyk near the green with the roses before being apprehended, a
USGA official said. She had an advertisement for a Web site printed
on her front and back.
''I was definitely caught off guard,'' Furyk said. ''I turned
around and she was already up on top of me. I just wanted to back
off from the situation and get back to playing golf.''
The woman was being held by local police, and was expected to be
charged with disorderly conduct.
Furyk shot a 2-over 72 Sunday to win his first major
championship.
