Gatorade Montana Softball POY

In its third decade of honoring the nation's best high school athletes, Gatorade joined with RISE Magazine to name senior catcher MAGHAN YUREK of C.M. RUSSELL HIGH as its 2007-2008 Montana Softball Player of the Year.

The 5-foot-8 senior catcher produced a .506 batting average, 44 RBI, 31 runs scored and seven home runs this season, leading the Rustlers (19-8) to a fifth-place finish in the Class AA state tournament. A three-time First Team All-State selection, Yurek compiled an .828 slugging ...
