Central Florida All-Area Football

8/25/2008

Here's a preseason look at the players to watch in Central Florida:

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

ANDRE DEBOSE

Rated the nation's No. 7 wide receiver in the ESPNU
150, Debose is a versatile pass-catcher thanks to
experience under center in the spread offense.
Scores of programs are clamoring for his services.

JARVIS GILES

A Tennessee commit, Giles ran for 20 touchdowns
and more than 1,400 yards last season. He is rated
the nation's No. 5 senior running back in the
ESPNU 150.

RAY RAY ARMSTRONG

A tremendous athlete on both sides of the ball,
Armstrong is rated the nation's No. 18 overall
recruit in the ESPNU 150. His college position has
yet to be determined.

DEMONTE MCALLISTER

McAllister, rated the nation's the No. 9 defensive
lineman in the ESPNU 150, had 12 sacks last season.
He has committed to play for FSU, but at press
time was still taking visits and fielding offers.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON RYNE GIDDINS:

"Probably one of the best defensive ends we've
ever played against. He presents a perfect balance
of power and speed and really creates
some problems for your offense. In the end, he's
just a great player."
