Only four games into the season, Barket already has more than 1,000 yards rushing and has scored 21 touchdowns. The full list of this week's ESPN RISE regional football players of the week follows:
East Region Football Player of the Week
Zach Barket (Schuylkill Haven, Pa.) -- see ESPN RISE National Player of the Week.
Southeast Region Football Player of the Week
Nicholas Parker (South Panola, Batesville, Miss.) He's also this week's FAB 50 Spotlight Player of the Week and will be featured on an ESPNEWS segment Thursday. In what local scribes were billing as one of the biggest games ever played in Mississippi, Parker, a junior running back, was the star as the state's No. 1-ranked team defeated Apopka of Florida, 28-18, in a game seen nationally on ESPNU. Apopka came into the game unbeaten and was No. 1 in the Class 6A state rankings for Florida. Parker rambled for 243 yards on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns. He scored on consecutive 59-yard runs to help break the game open as South Panola extended the nation's longest current winning streak to 79 games. Six-foot-1, 210-pound Parker could be a major college recruit next year and has done a great job stepping in for graduated four-year standout Darius Barksdale. With Parker and others back next season, who knows how long South Panola's win streak is going to continue.
Midwest Region Football Player of the Week
Mark Miller (Elder, Cincinnati) The standout junior quarterback set a school record with 449 yards of passing and had six touchdown passes to lead Elder past St. Edward of Lakewood, Ohio, 52-31. St. Edward came into the game undefeated, and Elder improved to 4-1, its only loss coming in its opener in the Kirk Herbstreit Classic to ESPN RISE FAB 50-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Josh Jones caught four of Miller's touchdown passes, and the other two went to Tim O'Connor.
Southwest Region Football Player of the Week
Derrick Graham (Nashville, Ark.) At first glance, Graham's rushing totals of 33 carries for 130 yards in a 58-35 win Friday over Liberty-Eylau of Texas is not very special and not worthy of that much recognition. What sets him apart, however, is that Graham tied a reported Arkansas state record by scoring nine touchdowns. He reached the end zone on runs of 1, 1, 1, 3, 4, 1, 5, 1 and 4 yards. According to Robert Yates of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Graham tied the state record of nine touchdowns for a single game set in 2006 by Kendric Smith of Hughes, Ark. If high school players were in fantasy leagues, Derrick Graham would be your man.
West Region Football Player of the Week
Kevin Pantastico (Desert Ridge, Mesa, Ariz.) Despite his team's losing the game 43-40 to Red Mountain of Mesa, Pantastico set an Arizona single-game record by completing 23 of 44 passes for 595 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.
