Davonta Farrell scored two touchdowns in the win over Overlea.

Ranging in age from pre-teens to rising high school seniors, the participants were taken through a series of drills, film and events designed to help them get prepared for the upcoming football season.

Among the participants were several of Maryland's best high school quarterback prospects and MDVaristy.com caught up with seven of them to see how they spent their summer and get a quick scouting report*.

Connor Bruns, Sr., Loyola

Favorite Summer Moment: "Going to all the camps and meeting all the guys at camps." - went to Maryland and Virginia camp this summer.
Favorite Pass Route: Deep route.
"I just like throwing the deep ball."
Toughest Opposing Player This Season: "I'm not sure of tough players, but I know our tough teams are going to be Gilman and [Mount] St. Joseph."
Most Improved Area This Summer: "Learning my offense more and learning the little things with my footwork and reading the defenses more."
Scouting Report: Hearing from Connecticut and Rutgers, but holds no official offers.
"He could be very good. He's been coached very well. He's right up there with Billy [Cosh] and Josh [Bordner]. He's got very good knowledge of the game and he's very polished."

Billy Cosh, Sr., Arundel

Favorite Summer Moment: Going to Kansas State and back to Manhattan (Kan.) to visit his father and friends.
Favorite Pass Route: Deep comeback, opposite hash
"I just love the timing of it. We run it a lot at Arundel"
Toughest Opposing Player This Season: Josh Furman, Sr., Old Mill
"Josh and I are pretty close, on and off the field so I'll say Furm. He's a great athlete and it'll be a good battle between us."
Most Improved Area This Summer: Speed and strength
"With our weight training program I'm 205. I was 195 coming into the year."
Scouting Report: Holds offers from K. State, ECU, Towson and Kentucky. "He has the best combination of accuracy and arm strength of anybody out here."

Zach Dancel, Jr., Good Counsel

Favorite Summer Moment: "Football-wise, the 7-on-7. It's fun getting together with the guys and we went up to Maryland and won that."
Favorite Pass Route: "I'd say the post -- either that or the comeback. When you throw a good comeback the timing is perfect and it feels good."
Toughest Opposing Player This Season: Pete Thomas, Quarterback Valhalla (Calif.).
"We go down to California for our first game. He's [Thomas] like 6-4 and pretty good. Also a couple guys at DeMatha - actually a few guys."
Most Improved Area This Summer: "My reads and coverage recognition." Scouting Report: "He's a competitor, gritty and he's got great feet and knowledge of the game."

Davonta Farrell, Sr., Perry Hall

Favorite Summer Moment: "I went to Miami with my friend Pablo - one of the receivers from my team. We just had fun down there on the beach."
Favorite Pass Route: "Probably the fade or the dig. We have some fast receivers to I think they can beat a lot of corners this year."
Toughest Opposing Player This Season: "There's a couple. Our first game is against Joppatowne and we got Tuscarora, but mostly Kenwood - their quarterback."
Most Improved Area This Summer: "Being patient and my accuracy. Last year I rushed a lot of things, but towards the end of the season and coming to these camps helped me improve."
Scouting Report: "He's a tremendous athlete. He's a very athletic kid who is going to make a lot of plays. He could be a guy that jumps off the radar real quick."

Ryan Hart, Jr., St. Mary's

Favorite Summer Moment: "Just getting together with my receivers every day and throwing. Every day, twice a day - everybody's really motivated."
Favorite Pass Route: "Everybody likes the long ball, but I like the comebacks. Everybody's keying off Mark McNeil so I like catching them off guard."
Toughest Opposing Player This Season: "I don't know. Every team is going to be tough. We're trying to three-peat and every opponent is going to be coming at us hard."
Most Improved Area This Summer: "confidence. Getting with my receivers gives me confidence that I can make the throws."
Scouting Report: "He could surprise a lot of people."

Jerry Lovelocke, Sr., Edmondson

Favorite Summer Moment: "College tour. The place that I went that was the best was Ohio State. Besides that, Temple."
Favorite Pass Route: "Post. If it's not the deep ball then I'd have to say the 10-yard dig. I love hitting windows - it makes it fun."
Toughest Opposing Player This Season: "Player-wise, I can't say anything right now. I know how we look, and we look good so they'll have to look better than us to win."
Most Improved Area This Summer: "Speed. Just in general, I feel faster in everything."
Scouting Report: Holds offers from Central Michigan, Temple, Towson, Akron and Kent State. "Jerry Lovelocke could be the best player that's ever come out of this state if everything works out for him."

A.J. Pignone, Jr., Sherwood

Favorite Summer Moment: "My parents have a beach house in Ocean City (Md.). Hanging out there and brining my friends down."
Favorite Pass Route: "I like a good comeback. I like the timing - it's a good play when you need it."
Toughest Opponent This Season: "We got Damascus on our schedule so Connor Frazier who was here and his teammate, Brian Lucas."
Most Improved Area This Summer: "this is my first season with Baucia. He helped me out a lot with my footwork. My arm strength has increased, but anything with my footwork has really helped me out."
