Each selection for the top high school football program in each state is based primarily on all-time wins. In Georgia, for example, it has to be Valdosta since that school has won more games than any other in the nation. Other factors used were number of state championships and recent dominance.

ALABAMA
Hoover. The Bucs won a state record four straight Class 6A crowns from 2002-05 and are a regular title contender, including a runner-up finish last season.
ALASKA
Service (Anchorage). This school has won the most state titles over the past 15 years.
ARIZONA
Mesa High. The Jackrabbits are from the only school in the state with 600 or more all-time wins. Another school from Mesa, Mountain View, has been outstanding in more recent years.
ARKANSAS
Little Rock Central. The Tigers have won more games (754) and state titles (32) than any other team in the state and are among the national leaders in both categories as well.
CALIFORNIA
Long Beach Poly. The Jackrabbits have the most all-time football wins in the state with 684 and have sent more players to the NFL than any other school in the nation.
COLORADO
Cherry Creek (Englewood). The state's most successful largest class program since 1962 has also won eight state championships since 1982.
CONNECTICUT
Ansonia. Although Ansonia competes in the small-school classification, its dominance has been nothing but amazing. The Chargers have been in the state finals 22 of the 34 years state championships have been offered in Connecticut, winning a state-best 15 times.
DELAWARE
Newark. In 1997, Newark started a run of seven state titles in eight years. The program's 10 state titles also are the most in Delaware history.
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
Dunbar (Washington, D.C.). The Crimson have won eight of the last 11 DCIAA titles while competing in all 11 finals.
FLORIDA
Lakeland. The Dreadnaughts won a state record 53 straight games from 2005-07 after capturing 60 consecutive regular season victories from 1995-2001. Lakeland also has won six state crowns and was Class 5A runner-up last season.
GEORGIA
Valdosta. The Wildcats boast the nation's all-time winningest resume with 23 state championships. They also are the only school with more than 800 victories.
HAWAII
St. Louis (Honolulu). The Crusaders won 13 consecutive league titles from 1986-98 before the state playoffs started in 1999. St. Louis won the first state crown plus the 2003 title and has five runner-up finishes.
IDAHO
Highland (Pocatello). The Rams have captured nine state titles in last 30 years, including last season with Stanford-bound QB Taysom Hill leading the way.
ILLINOIS
Joliet Catholic. The Chicago metro area power won a state record 13th championship in 2007.
INDIANA
Sheridan. The small school power won its ninth state Class A title in 2008, all since 1980.
IOWA
Harlan. The Cyclones have captured 11 state Class 3A crowns since 1972, including three consecutive unbeaten state title clubs from 2003-05.
KANSAS
Smith Center. The Redmen will enter the 2009 season with the nation's longest active win streak of 67 games and will be seeking their sixth straight state Class 2-1A championship.
KENTUCKY
Trinity (Louisville). The Shamrocks have won seven titles in the last eight years, including four in a row, and have a state record 19 championships.
LOUISIANA
John Curtis Christian (River Ridge). The Patriots have won a state record 23 championships, including the last five crowns, in Class 2A.
MAINE
Bonny Eagle. The Scots have won four of the last five state championships, including last season.
MARYLAND
DeMatha (Hyattsville). Since taking over the program in 1982, Bill McGregor's Stags have a 259-36-3 record. DeMatha has won the last six Washington Catholic Athletic Conference titles.
MASSACHUSETTS
Everett. This school began playing in 1893 and last season won its 14th straight Greater Boston League title.
MICHIGAN
Muskegon. The Big Reds are the state's all-time winningest program with 739 wins and won their third state Division 2 title in five years last season.
MINNESOTA
Eden Prairie. The Eagles have won seven state championships, including four since 2000 with back-to-back crowns in 2006-07.
MISSISSIPPI
South Panola (Batesville). The Tigers had a state record, and national active best, 89-game win streak halted in last season's Class 5A state final after winning five straight championships.
MISSOURI
Rockhurst (Kansas City). The Hawklets have captured eight state largest class crowns, including the last in 2007.
MONTANA
Capital (Helena). The team's third straight state title last season also was its 10th overall.
NEBRASKA
Creighton Prep (Omaha). Prep has qualified for a state-record 30 postseason playoffs, including the last 14 seasons in a row. The Junior Jays also have won a record nine state championships.

NEVADA
Reno High. The school has the most state championships with 19. The last time the Huskies won a state title was in 2003.
NEW HAMPSHIRE
Plymouth Regional. The Bobcats have won four straight state titles and eight in the last nine years.
NEW JERSEY
Bergen Catholic (Oradell). This school has won 16 state titles, with the most recent in 2004.
NEW YORK
St. Anthony's (Melville). The Friars have been the dominant program in recent years in the competitive Catholic High School Football League.
NEW MEXICO
Artesia. The Bulldogs have captured a state best 26 championships since 1957.
NORTH CAROLINA
Independence (Charlotte). The Patriots had a state-record 109-game win streak halted in 2007 and has a streak of seven consecutive Class 4A state championships.
NORTH DAKOTA
Watford City. Since 1972, Watford City has won nine state championships in Class 11AA.
OHIO
St. Ignatius (Cleveland). Under head coach Chuck Kyle, the Wildcats won a state record 10th Division 1 state title last season and have appeared in a state record 21 straight postseason playoffs.
OKLAHOMA
Jenks. The Trojans have won nine state Class 6A titles while compiling a 159-17 record in the last 13 years. Jenks was the state runner-up last season.
OREGON
Vale. This small school powerhouse has won 10 state titles, more than any other school in the state.
PENNSYLVANIA
Berwick. The Bulldogs have racked up more than 700 all-time victories since 1888. They won six state Class AAA titles from 1988-97 when the program reached its zenith under former coach George Curry.
RHODE ISLAND
La Salle Academy (Providence). LaSalle has won more state Division 1 titles at 15 than any other school, with the last three crowns coming in this decade -- 2001, 2002 and 2008.
SOUTH CAROLINA
Byrnes (Duncan). The Rebels have captured six of the last seven state titles, including a Class 4A-Division 1 crown in 2008.
SOUTH DAKOTA
Washington (Sioux Falls). No high school in America has won more state titles than Washington, which captured 35 between 1905-1976. Included was a record run of 14 in a row from 1951-64.
TENNESSEE
Maryville. The Rebels extended their win streak to 74 games last season before bowing in the state Class 4A final and have won seven of the last nine state crowns. Maryville has 658 all-time victories and 12 state crowns.
TEXAS
Southlake Carroll. The Dragons, a former three-time state titlist in Class 3A, have won four Class 5A crowns since 2002, including consecutive titles from 2004-06. During that run of dominance Southlake Carroll also ripped off 48 straight wins.
UTAH
Timpview (Provo). The T-Birds have won three straight Class 4A state titles and hold a current 37-game win streak.
VERMONT
Rutland. The state's most successful program in recent years has won seven Division 1 championships in 15 seasons and was runner-up in 2008.
VIRGINIA
Hampton. From the talent-rich Tidewater Region, the Crabbers' 17 state titles is more than twice as many as any other school in Virginia.
WEST VIRGINIA
Parkersburg. The Big Reds have won more games than any other state school. Since 1906, Parkersburg has claimed 750 victories, which also ranks among the top 10 on the national charts.
WASHINGTON
Bellevue. The Wolverines and head coach Butch Goncharoff have earned seven state crowns in all after pocketing six Class 3A titles in the last eight years. They also were the team that snapped the national record 151-game win streak in 2004 that at the time was held by De La Salle (Concord, Calif.).
WISCONSIN
Arrowhead (Hartland). The Warhawks are an annual Division 1 state contender and have appeared in the last three championships while winning the 2007 title.
WYOMING
Campbell County (Gillette). The Camels have won two of the last three largest-class state crowns.
