State Stat Leaders: Week 1

Updated: September 9, 2009, 11:42 PM ET

It was an exciting week as the public schools started their season last weekend. 18 players rushed for at least 150 yards, led by Patuxent's Frank Taitano.

State Stat Leaders

MDVarsity.com will profile some of the top statistical performances each week.

It looked to be a rough week on defenses around the state as 16 players scored at least three touchdowns. Annapolis' Demond Brown rushed for four touchdowns in a win.

A pair of Arundel athletes: Billy Cosh and Ronnie Harris led the state in passing and receiving respectively.

Beginning this season, every Monday, MDVarsity.com will post a list of the state statistical leaders in several categories; passing, rushing, receiving, touchdowns and tackles.

The list is complied based on submissions we have received. If we are missing a player e-mail Mike Loveday at Mike.Loveday.ESPN@gmail.com

Submissions must come from a coach, team statistician or newspaper. Please include your name in submissions so all performances can be verified.
